Percy's POV
After that 'bonding' session with my not-so biological mother, I was left confused.

I had a ton of questions, yet no answer. Why does nobody answer my questions?

Making through the path in Tartarus, I couldn't help but shudder slightly. The first time I had been here, I was with Annabeth.

When we met Nyx, we weren't safe, like how I was now. She wasn't my mother, instead she was a vile goddess that wanted to kill me. But we managed to make it out.

We were alive, sure, but we had lost something very dear to us. Our sanity and overall well-being.

Tartarus affects the mind, it ruins you. Dear reader, you must be thinking, Gee, Percy, how do you even live here, then?

My answer: I have no idea.

Probably because some people I know, are all living in this hell of a pit.

Mindlessly, I walked till I bumped into someone.

Nevermind, it was Nico. He wasn't just a someone.

"Hi."

Geez, Percy. You couldn't have said something better, could you? Seriously, a 'hi'?

At first, Nico didn't speak. He just walked up to me.

"What did Lady Night talk to you about? Did she teach you anything cool?" He asked, a slight grin on his face.

Now that I think about him, he didn't smile much. Well, he wasn't used to smiling around me. I guess, now he was?

"She told me some weird stuff like 'You will destroy the blood of the gods'. Totally normal." I said, my words dripping in sarcasm.

See, I was a guy of limited talent. If I can't kill it with my new-found powers over the shadows and night, a sword or sarcasm, I am basically defenseless. I come preloaded with sarcasm. The pen-sword is always in my pocket. As of now, I had access to my new-found powers, so I was prepared if anything happened.

Anyways, moving on.

"Ah, about that," Nico said, like he'd been dreading that moment.

Now I was curious.

"What is it?" I said, giving Nico's hand a gentle squeeze.

I had been through a lot of wars, and a gazillion quests. I was prepared (Wait, I was?).

"Percy, do you know why I brought the dead back?" Nico asked.

Well, clearly I don't know. So, I shook my head 'no'.

"To take revenge on the gods. They cast me down to Tartarus, for a false punishment. After that jerk, André came to camp, everyone I loved left me."

Not me, but Nico and I didn't necessarily got along that well. Well, now we do.

"So, this is another Luke Castellan-situation?" I asked, I needed answers. I'm not waiting for them again.

"You could say so, but this is bigger than all us. The primordials are on our side. The battle with Gaia was just a distraction, the true war will be much bigger." Nico said.

"And we're against the gods this time?"

"Yes."

Well, it was nice knowing you, dear reader, because I don't know who is going to make it out alive— this side or the gods' side.

"Is there a prophecy issued?" I asked.

Despite my hate-hate relationship with prophecies, they were important. They decided the fate of the quest or in this case, war.

He sighed, took a deep breath, and started. That, my dear reader, is how you know that a prophecy is huge.

"From the pit of dark, warriors rise, awoken from the dead, a haunting surprise. The broken hero, lost in despair, joins the evil, an ominous affair. Good shall fight with all their might, but in the end, they'll lose the fight. The treasure elusive, their key to fate, missing the one, sealing their dire state."

Nico finished, and immediately let out a breath of relief.

"That's big. What does that have to do with me?"

Wisdom, was not my thing. Sure, some other may have liked it. Not me, though. I'll stick with sarcasm and sass, thank you.

"The broken hero, that's you. Also, without you, the gods' would lose. Whichever side has you and your loyalty, wins." Nico explained.

Okay, that was something I wasn't informed about. When was I ever informed about something?

So, ignore those last words of mine that you read before this. Forget they existed, and don't you dare scroll up to go see them again.

"Oh. So, when will this war start?"

He sighed, looking like he was done with my stupidity. I can't blame him.

"We'd be the ones to send the first attack." He said.

"Oh."

Was all I said, because it was the safest thing i could say.

Alright, go and get your flaming spear. Put on your lion-skin cape. Polish your shield and make sure you've got arrows in your quiver.

It's war time, well not yet. But you better be prepared!
