[scene begins with dragonet Aeris sitting on a wooden bed, holding a makeshift toy between his talons. A worn down lamp hangs on the wall, barely lighting up the room. He's wearing a ripped armband tied to his right arm. A set of numbers is imprinted on the band, reading "277329"]

[Aeris hears a soft knock on the door, and he turns toward it. An adult SkyWing enters the room, carrying a basket filled with items. She makes her way across the room, and Aeris's gaze follows her. The SkyWing sets the basket down on a table, turning and revealing a large cut along her arm]

AERIS: That looks painful.

REELA: Don't worry. It doesn't hurt anymore. [sorts the items out of the basket, placing them in neat piles on the table] If you're wondering, it's just war stuff. Not sure if you even understand what I'm talking about.

AERIS: [turns to the scattered items on the table] What are those for?

REELA: Oh, those, um... it's just a little surprise.

AERIS: Are the rest of them coming back?

REELA: We're not sure. Her Majesty hasn't got word from them for the past ninety four hours. They've never been away this long without contacting the kingdom. [places the empty bag on the floor] I guess it's just a little traffic, that's all.

AERIS: Like?

REELA: Hurricane. Bad weather. It's hard flying.

AERIS: Hm.

REELA: You seem quiet. [walks over to Aeris's bed and sits down next to him] Is something on your mind that I should know about?

AERIS: I don't think it matters.

REELA: Look, as a supervisor, I should know what's on your mind. Maybe I can help, maybe I can't, but I'm sure you'll feel better when you get it off your chest. [puts her talon on Aeris's shoulder] So you wanna tell me what it is?

AERIS: I saw them last night. [looks at Reela] My parents. I saw them... I saw the NightWings, and then... I saw myself standing there, staring back. I don't know if you can even call that a nightmare.

REELA: Aeris, you're just stressed out. [tries to comfort him] Look, back and forth fights against the NightWings, it's gotten everybody stressed out. You're safe... with me. I promise you.

AERIS: I don't like what's happening out there.

REELA: Me, too. I want this war to be over as much as you do, really.

[Reela notices a piece of scroll poking out of the frame of the bed, and she reaches for it. Aeris's eyes open wide, watching as she slowly unfolds the scroll. Drawn on the scroll is a terrible drawing of a red dragon holding a sword toward three black dragons]

REELA: You drew this?

AERIS: Y-yeah.

REELA: [skeptical] What is it supposed to be?

AERIS: It's just me... hanging out with a couple-

REELA: The truth, Aeris. What is this?
