"Fine then. Look me in the eyes, tell me you're breaking up with me."
He does as I asked.
Sterling looks me in the eye, for the first time in three days, and tells me what I asked him to say.
"I'm breaking up with you. We're over, Delaney."
And with that, he rips my heart into a million tiny pieces.
"I don't know why you're doing this. I don't know why you're hurting me. Hurting yourself. Because I know you don't really want to do this. What I do know is that you, Sterling Blake, are goddamned coward.
