Strange things are afoot on the night of the full moon as the guests at Lydia's party experience bizarre hallucinations, and Allison's parents make a difficult decision. While Chloe and Derek lock their Betas up to watch them on their first full moon together.
Third Person POV
~Previously~
Alan glances over at Derek holding Chloe in his arms, completely destroyed and broken, he can't stand the sight of not only losing his daughter but watching her best friend, her boyfriend, die on the inside while still desperately trying to look like he's holding it together. "She's gone, Derek." Alan tells him, moving around the table to stand next to Derek and resting a hand on his shoulder which Derek shrugs off quickly, "She's gone." He closes his eyes quickly looking away as he mumbles a devastating apology to Chloe's mother for breaking his promise before taking in a sharp breath while trying to keep himself from destroying the room... trashing the place will not bring her back and he knows that.
The three Betas pull each other into a tight hug, breaking down together as they look at Chloe's body... cold on the table; Derek refusing to let her go. Losing Chloe is heartbreaking for Isaac, Erica, and Boyd, but watching the strong Alpha of their pack completely fall apart is just adding to the pain; they've never seen him like this. "She can't be... she c-can't be. She promised..." Derek chokes out, unable to get a breath as his claws pierce the top of the metal table near her arm and his eyes glow red. "She's my anchor." He growls a mixture of rage and despair in his voice. Hearing that and seeing his claws everyone takes small steps back.
~Now~
"How did I end up here?" Chloe asks the King of Camelot, still sitting with him.
Arthur shrugs, "I never knew how magic worked, that was more Merlin's thing." He admits. "If your family... if they haven't told you then it's not my place to." He gives her a small reassuring smile.
Chloe chuckles in disbelief, "You're the King and you can't tell me anything?"
"It's not my place to." He repeats with a shrug, "You need to ask your family... Ask your mother."
Chloe sighs, throwing a hand full of pebbles into the water in front of her, "My mother is dead, so I can't ask her." She snaps irritated as the King gives her a confused look at the mention of her mother which she brushes off. "As far as the rest of my family— like my Dad— I would if I could go back but I kind of got stabbed." She admits sheepishly.
Arthur smiles, "I may not know how it works but I can help with that."
Chloe's confused and looks at him, "Being dead gives you access to magic?" She asks.
"Indeed it does." He nods. "Knowing a curtain sorcerer helps as well." He smiles at her while moving to touch two fingers to her forehead.
She gently grabs his wrist, stopping him and he tilts his head, giving her a confused look. She sighs, "All the legends I've read about you... everything I know... says that one day you will be coming back, why haven't you?"
He slowly moves his hand as he chuckles, "There's still chaos in the world..." He almost whispers.
Chloe takes a breath, letting it out slowly as she calms down the annoyance building for his cryptic response. "I thought when things were in chaos was when the world needed you most...?" She questions.
"You'll understand one day." He smiles, touching two fingers to her forehead. "Now go, your destiny awaits you."
Chloe is blinded by a bright white light, Arthur's last words ringing in her ears.
