TW: blood, death, slight fluff (?)

After they blindfolded you, the Fatui agents pushed you out of the cage and dragged you along with them. You could hardly keep up. They threw you in a room and against your protests, tied your hand behind you.

"There," you heard one of them say, "that should do it. Enjoy  your trip."

You heard a loud bang and the click of a lock. You realised that they have locked you up. Now not only could you not talk, you were blindfolded, tied and locked up in somewhere. What if they just leave you there? The way Scaramouche was right now, you didn't think he'd come looking for you. And in this wretched place, no one else bothered with you.

You were starting to panic. The darkness was becoming too much for you. You helplessly called out in the hopes someone might come for you. But there was no voice that came out. You scorched your throat trying to scream for help. Every time you screamed silently, your bruised throat expelled blood down the front of your shirt. Still, not a sound escaped from your lips. Bleeding from your mouth, breathless from the panic attack, you finally passed out.

*Scaramouche's POV*

Once aboard the ship, the doctor finally detached every piece of machinery from Scaramouche's body.

"Well, Balladeer. Have fun on the travel. We will get back to business once we reach the Akademiya."

Scaramouche didn't bother gracing Dottore with a reply as he exited the room. He was finally going to be a God. Only the last step remained where the sages would provide him with the nation's knowledge. Then, he would be the perfect replacement for Greater Lord Rukkhadevata.

But for now, he had to get hold of y/n. The fact that she was his first follower and the way these lower fatui agents handled her made his blood boil. How they casually pushed her around as if she was lesser than them. Scaramouche barged through all the rooms in the ship until he came to the one where he found y/n.

Y/n was lying on sprawled on the floor. There was blood on her shirt and at the corners of her lips. She was not only still blindfolded but also tied up.

"Y/n..." Scaramouche muttered.

The two fatui agents guarding the room, sensing danger, tried to flee. But that was their end. Scaramouche swiftly ended their lives before rushing beside y/n.

*back to y/n's pov*

You didn't know how long you were unconscious for when you heard a voice calling out to you.

"Y/n."

It was Scaramouche.

He untied your blindfold. You struggled to open your eyes. You had been blindfolded for too long and opening your eyes gave you a headache now. Everything looked too bright.

"Y/n?" he asked again.

You looked around. You were in a storeroom of sorts. It had anchors and barrels and small round sealed windows. That was when you understood, you were on a ship. A ship to Sumeru, like the doctor had said. You must have fainted before the ship even started moving.

At the door of the room, you could see two fatui agents lying in a pool of blood. A fresh new horror came upon you as it dawned on you who had been responsible for this.

You tried to shout again but coughed and threw up more blood.

"For heaven's sake, y/n, are you stupid?" Scaramouche shook you violently and forced you to look at him as he sat in front of you, "why did you keep on shouting in spite of the muting potion? You have damaged your throat so much that it'll be a miracle if you are able to talk after the potion wears off."

At this point, you didn't care about the potion. You pointed at the dead fatui shakily, yearning for an answer that will not make you be scared of the person in front of you.

"That?" Scaramouche smirked, "that's what happens when people try to destroy what's mine."

You looked at him in utter horror. This was Kabuki- killing people who hurt you. Kabuki- capable of anything, capable of being a God.

"Enough of this. Let's go." Scaramouche didn't wait for you to stand up. Instead he just picked you up and put you over his shoulders effortlessly and promptly exited the room, stepping over the limp bodies at the doorway. You had to clasp your mouth shut with you hand to keep yourself from throwing up.

Once he entered his room, he put you down on his bed and locked the door from inside.

"Let's start where we left off, shall we?" Scaramouche smiled at you as he returned to bed.

At that moment, you didn't want to continue where you had left off in that ship in Liyue. You were scared to just be with him in a room. You moved away from him.

He didn't take this move of yours very nicely. He got up and pushed you down on the bed.

"Where do you think you are going?" he sounded annoyed, "It's been 500 years and I have waited. I have waited like a fool for you," Scaramouche got on top of you. His hands made a tight hold on your neck.

You choked and gasped for air.

"I travelled far and wide searching for you, y/n," Scaramouche hissed in your ear, "I had to flee from Tatarasuna and yet I searched all across Inazuma for you. You think I didn't see that domain? But try as I may, I couldn't enter it. A part of me believed that you are alive and in that domain. But as time passed, I assumed that you died because after all, you are a mere mortal."

So Kabuki had searched for you. These were the times when you couldn't help but see him as Kabuki and not Scaramouche, even though he was literally strangling you.

"The other harbingers had whores at their feet to entertain them. Not me. I was the fool who was waiting and holding on to hope that you were alive. All because of our promise back in Nazuchi beach. You gave your word to be there for me, y/n. So where were you as I struggled? I ask, where were you as I made trips to the abyss? Do you realise how delusional it was? A mortal surviving 500 years? But here you are, y/n. So don't you dare try moving away from me now. I have waited long enough for this," Scaramouche came down to your face and crashed his lips against yours. You couldn't help but give in to him. You raised your arms and brought him close to you. To this gesture, he let go of your neck and cupped your face.

Scaramouche rose up from your embrace after a long time. He looked down at your bright red face, breathing heavily after the prolonged kiss.

"500 years of waiting was worth it," he said with a smirk and went right back at it.
