This is the story of what happened long before Sora Yatagami/Karasuki was summoned to Tortus. Ryu the Dragon King is considered a Hero by his people. He spends his days peacefully, managing his kingdom as its King. All that changes when the whirlwin...
Ryu tells Oscar the whole truth about the 14 Transcendent Gods in Tortus. The truth that Tortus was once a peaceful world, where every being, Human, Demi-Human, Dragonman, Vampire, Demons, and Spirits all live together in harmony. Where everything changed when Ehit comes to this world due to the 6 Wise Gods. The truth about who Ehit truly is, and why the Dragon King was branded as a traitor by the other Gods. Why he was unable to sway the others about Ehit's true nature.
Oscar could only bit his lip about the whole story, while Miledi fell silent. The sun had long since set, and night blanketed the sky. After he finished his tale, Ryu close his eyes.
Ryu: I'm not strong enough on my own. Me and my other comrades could only watched over from the shadow. Helping and rescuing people whom had been branded heretics and brought them somewhere where Ehit had absolutely zero controls. All me and my people could do, was pray that one day someone would lead a revolution to this curse world. And that's when Mii-chan came to me asking for assistance.
Miledi:...
Ryu smile at her who was not looking directly into his eyes but looking away into the sunset. Miledi could only blush when Ryu patted her head.
Ryu: Asking many people whom had connections to me outside my Kingdom like Kaijin, we finally found you.
Silence. Ryu and Miledi had laid out everything out for him. All that was left was to wait for Oscar's reply. Oscar pushed up his glasses, hiding his expression.
Oscar: Ryu. Miledi.
Miledi: That's us.
Oscar refused to meet their gaze, as if doing so would weaken his resolve. He paused for a second.

Oscar: I... can't go with you.
Miledi: Ah...
Ryu:...
Oscar noticed Miledi tightly grip Ryu's hands.
Oscar: Just like that Belta was important to Miledi, or how Ryu cared for his people, my family is important to me. Even if what you say is true, I can't afford to get them wrapped up in this.
Oscar stood up, which made Miledi gasp and Ryu could close his eyes in sadness.
Oscar: I don't want to be seen with either of you anymore. Please, try and understand.
Oscar turned his back to Ryu and Miledi and walked away. A clear rejection.
Miledi: Th-Then, can me and Ry-ry come see you when there isn't anyone around tomorrow?
Ryu: Or, when me and Mii-chan's journey is finished. Will you allow us to visit you? Not as Liberators trying to recruit, but as friends?
Oscar stopped. He struggled to rein in his emotions and glumly replied to them.
