Chapter 5:Vulnerability

         [The next morning]
       Marrissas POV
I woke up with a huge headache I turned to face the window when I saw Mr.CEO sleeping beside me. I don't know what got into me I pushed him out of the bed and he groaned in pain
"What're you doing in my apartment?!"
He stood up
"Can your tacky apartment be this luxurious?"he said
"So..."I said and he cut in "you slept in"he sighed holding his head
"I wonder what people take help for now a days"he said
"I'm sorry"I said
"Mh"
"So how was your date last night"I asked
"I don't know"he said casually with a shrug
What!!
"What do you mean by you don't know?!"I asked
"I left earlier than expected"he responded
"So you ghosted her"I asked
"I won't call it ghosting"he said" I would say I left to help a worker of mine"he added with a sly smirk
"So you ghosted her for me!!.That's so cute!!!.So Stephanie was right you are sweet!!. But why did you ghost her the reason you gave sounds unreal"I said
"Cause you are my friend"he said with a smirk
I was about to squeal when his words echoed in my head and my expression change there was a hint of sarcasm
"You're being sarcastic right?!"
He nodded simply
"Why did you leave"I asked
"It was super boring and a little someone slept off in the middle of my date"he said
"I'm sorry I was overfed, but don't you worry your next date will be dope"I said
"Go make my breakfast and make it better this time"he said with a teasing smirk and I rolled my eyes mentally
I left for the kitchen and decided on making strawberry pancakes and a milkshake. I was cooking when my phone beeped it was a message from Aria
Ariana: Girl I need to talk to you
I flipped a pancake
Me: what's wrong?
I put the pancakes in a plate and my phone beeped again
Ariana: it's mum..., she wants me to meet some mafia dude 😭
I stared at the message with nothing popping up in my head to reply I turned off my phone and took a glass of water fixed everything up and left the kitchen for his room
I knocked then opened the door only to meet Mr.CEO only on his trousers,barechested , he looked so perfect from his defined abs to the tattoo on his chest I looked away quickly as I subconsciously gulp 
I stood there for some seconds and I felt shivers down my spine when he placed his hand on my shoulder
"You can look now Miss Peters" he said and I turned to look at him and I noticed our faces were inches apart there I was standing so close to the hottest man I ever made a match for
We stood there for a while I didn't know what was going through his mind but soon he tucked my hair behind my ear and his thumb graced my cheek sending chills all over my body but soon my hand started hurting I so engrossed in his eyes that I forgot I was holding a tray
"Uhm Mr.CEO..."I said and he pulled away from me rubbing his neck
I dropped the tray on the minni table in his room and he sat and started eating
"Do you like it"I asked hoping he would
"No, I don't, I'm just eating it because I am starving"he said nonchalantly
I picked up a pillow and hit him hard
"You hope killer"I said and he chuckled and there it was again that glitter in his eyes
"Why did you look away?"he asked and I remained silent as I didn't know what to say
"Haven't you ever seen your boyfriend lunch like that?!"he asked curiously
I didn't know how to say that I've really never been in a relationship even if I make matches but I have never been able to give love a chance ever since what happened to my mom
I felt a tap on my arm
"What's wrong?"he asked looking into my teary eyes
I didn't know how to say it but I was gonna say it anyway
"I've never been in a relationship Mr.CEO.., I don't know how I always get it wrong,am I not beautiful enough"I said and tear rolled down my eyes. I can't believe I'm being so vulnerable in front of him
"And why Would you care"I muttered out
"I think you are beautiful"he said focused on the pancakes
I just sat there staring at him
"Thanks"I muttered
"This is the first time you are saying something nice to me"I said smiling ear to ear and he rolled his eyes and I heard his phone beep and he checked it,I saw him smirk
"What's wrong?"I asked
"Oh.., it's nothing my friend is having a pool party and he asked me to come" he said
Friend?..,ha!
I looked at him with surprise write on my face
"What is it?"he asked
"You have friends"I said air quoting the last part
"Of course I do, what do you think I am?, some loner?"he asked
"Ofcourse" I said and giggled
"Let's make a deal"he said
"Ok"
"You said you haven't been in a relationship right?"he asked
I nodded
"Okay let's get out of our comfort zones what if I get my self a date and you get yourself a kiss by the end of the party"he said
"I.. I... I.."I stuttered
"Are you scared Miss Peters?"he said and drew closer to me causing me to flinch
"I never back out of a challenge,so challenge accepted"I said not so confidently
"Lemme go change" he said and left
What was I thinking accepting such a challenge,God I'm so fucking stupid
Mr.CEO came out dressed to impress
"What am I gonna wear"I asked
"I already ordered something for you to wear"
