My Only One (Prequel to Hello Again)

chapter 10 - happy birthday

My eyes laid awake, staring up into the ceiling. I rubbed my eyes and turned my head towards the window, the sun up and early before turning my head towards my alarm clock. It's late in the morning. I glanced to look at Somi, still asleep and her back was turned to me though I could hear her faintly snoring.

Today was her birthday, and I had a plan made for today. Hopefully it's gonna be executed perfectly as I thought about it.

Grabbing my blanket and pulling it slowly off of me, I quietly sneaked out of bed, replacing myself with a pillow. Tip toeing out of the bedroom with some clothes to change out of, I went to the bathroom to change and went back to the bedroom, throwing the clothes into the pile before going up to her, leaning over her and giving her a kiss on her head.

Y/N - I'll be right back honey.

Grabbing my keys from my nightstand since I came home late last night from some fucking thing at base which was so boring I wanted to leave but I had to stay all the way through since Yoo insisted.

Making my way downstairs and out the building, I got on my bike and checked my phone, nodding and seeing the address sent to me. Putting on my helmet and driving off, it didn't take too long since it was still the morning and everybody was at work or whatever right now.

Parking in front of a cafe, I got off my bike and paid the parking ticket for the next hour and headed inside, my head turning to look around as I entered until I spotted her at an empty table. The cafe wasn't full or anything but it was still good enough for us to meet at. Walking up to her and sitting at the chair opposite her, we waved hello to each other where she let out a tired yawn.

Chae - *yawn* Good morning Y/N

Y/N - good morning Chae.

Taking off her facemask that she put on, she gave me a big cute smile where I laid my hands on the table and interlocked them together, my eyes bouncing around the place before back at her.

Chae - aren't you going to take off yours?

Y/N - well. It's a bit more complicated

Chae - why?

Y/N - just, anonymity reasons okay?

Chae - it's because I'm an idol isn't it?

Y/N - don't you have to be weary?

Chae - yeah, but the place isn't full or anything so you're fine.

Y/N - fine fine, I'll take it off.

Taking off my facemask, she got up from her chair gesturing to me to follow her which I do. Putting the facemask away into my pants, we went up to the counter and looked at the menu before at each other.

Y/N - it's on me today. What do you want?

Chae - mhmmm..........

The cashier patiently waited for Chae who had her eyes focused on the menu, even doing a thinking pose to express her process, it took a second until she finally spoke, facing the cashier.

Chae - I'll take a strawberry croissant and a Iced Americano, just the americano to go please

The cashier nodded, inputting her order into the system before turning to me.

Y/N - just an normal hot americano and I'll just take this

Picking up a protein bar from one of the displays, putting it on the counter which she rings up. I took out my wallet and gave her my card, paying for our order before she handed it back to me and put it back in my wallet. The cashier tells us that they'll deliver our drinks and Chae's croissants to our table, making us walk back to our table, my bar in hand.
