The wind had already started to pick up. The naked branches were rustling loudly. Lorine sighed as she turned around and went back home. It had been quite an unforeseen storm, so it was better to stay clear than to believe the winds would only get dangerous at night.

Before she turned back, she noticed a daffodil blow past her. Then another. Then what looked like poppy petals, corn flowers and ferns. It was like plants and flowers from the wilderness had been rooted up.

Maybe some kids were playing nearby, experimenting with the winds. Concerned, she followed the scattered plants to an open field in the forest, where a woman was standing. Her hair was flowing in sync with the winds, flowing unnaturally around her. She was standing a bit elevated, the afternoon sun shining majestically on her.

More plants scattered around her, and Lorine realised they were coming from her hair.

"T̵̯̞͐h̷͓͐e̴̜͐̀͜r̵͚̈́e̵̜̫̔̎ ̷͚̣̀͆w̴̨͋̕ì̶̼̈l̸̳̘̐̓l̵̡̨͆̾ ̵͉̦̚ḃ̵̨̄e̴̡̖͊ ̷̯̆ä̸̡͇́͊ ̸̮̬̒̏s̵̭͗ͅẗ̴̼̰o̸̒͜r̸͕̀m̸̱̀ ̵͇͆t̶̟̑o̵̻̐̕ṅ̵͓i̷̱͌̓g̵̭̖̒̓h̷̖̥͐t̸̳̥̒͝"

A voice whispered in the wind.

She looked around, but there was no one there. Then she stopped for a moment, the words jumbling in her mind. She understood it but then she did not. It sounded Swedish but not quite. It sounded familiar yet completely unknown.

The branches crackled in the wind, and she suddenly realised how strong the winds had gotten. This was not good.

She was about to walk away, when the sun suddenly shone through, except it was not the sun. The sky was grey with clouds and the trees too thick to hint anything. No, the light came from the woman.

Lorine watched as she took her hand and kissed it. From there a sleeve of ferns grew up her arm and created a crown of harebell, heather and twinflowers.

Then she was blinded. When she could see again, she was back on her walk, outside of the forest. The sleeve and crown still on her. Almost immediately the ferns fell apart and blew away, but the crown sat firmly.
