"YOU SEEM TO BE QUITE FRUSTRATED" I tried making a small talk since he sat like drowning in the depression of the death of his non-existent 13 wives and 10 children.
"Should I celebrate?" His voice was cold and I zipped my mouth in dejection.
"I lost my flight, my phone is dead. There is no cash with me except for my card and I can't go home to get disowned by my father right now." He hissed.
"And the worst part? you are with me! How am I supposed to not be frustrated?" The conclusion was the third insult he passed me in a row and my patience was thinning. His expression turned cold, almost demeaning and I moved myself away from him a little. Who knows the man might explode.
"Did you run away without any thinking? You didn't brought anything with you!" Ahaan diverted his attention from himself to me for the first time. His dark eyes peering down at me in question as I stared at the dark sky.
It was all dark except for the dying streetlights that would barely last an hour. The isolated road was haunting to some extent, the reason why I was tagging along with him.
"The thought of getting hitched to you was so repulsive that I would have killed myself than marrying you" I smiled at him and he rolled his eyes in silence, sighing at my words.
"I was robbed" His body went rigid and his eyes widened at my words. His head snapped to me and the shock was evident in his face.
"You WHAT?" His mouth fell open and I had to shift myself uncomfortably until his worrisome gaze.
Worry.
Like heck he would be worried.
"On the way. I was supposed to be staying at my bestfriend's house but she backstabbed me and ran away" I fidgeted with my fingers, my eyes low. "I was going to get to a nearby hotel when two men snatched my bag and went away on the bike"
"Shit" He cursed under his breath, and ran a hand through his face. It was as if he was sorry for me.
"You... seem.." He started but trailed off as he scratched the back of his neck. "Okay...right?"
I blinked at him, confused. Was that worry in his tone? I must be feeling too hungry to imagine such honderrous things.
The day Ahaan Sharma would care for me, will be when I would travel the world on pigs and pumpkins.
"A few scratches here and there" I replied awkwardly moving my gaze away.
"Ofcourse. You are clumsy as hell" I narrowed my eyes at him and he just shrugged in response.
"How can you run away? Did the Daddy's boy Ahaan Sharma finally got the balls to rebel?" I smirked when his face turned annoyed.
Ahaan Sharma was that perfect boy who parents longed for, girls die for and brats like me run from.
I've known him my entire life and one thing was sure- He and I were no match at all.
He was a total perfectionist, while I was... well let's accept it. I was a total walking chaos. In other words, I attained a PhD in creating trouble for myself and everyone around me.
He is silent and I like keeping my jaws working.
He was asshole and I was a sweet angel. I'm not lying!
So when our marriage was fixed, I thought our parents who were unfortunately bestfriends, were high on cocaine or something to think of such thing.
"Shut up! It is called obedience and when a lunatic is going to be permanently settled in your life, people tend to do things out of their comfort zone" He grumbled, pulling up his guard as if I was intruding his thoughts.
"Translation: You finally grew up" I grinned. He passed me a chill glare and I wrapped the scarf around me more tightly. It's chilling.
"Keep thinking that" His voice came off as distant, his eyes staring blankly on the road. There was something in his eyes that was quite saddening.
Longing?
Fear?
I didn't know!
"So, you were just going to run to Singapore and leave this all" I asked once again, he sighed in frustration.
"Do you take me for an idiot?"
"Obviously" He groaned.
"I was going to stay there until father would realise what kind of girl you are and he would finally loosen up" My heart dropped at his words. The nerve of him to shoot the gun from my shoulder made me see red.
"So, you are a coward too. I should add that to the list" I said sarcastically.
"It's not that easy, Meza." He said quietly and I picked up the hoarseness in his voice. Deep yet cracked.
"What?"
"Nothing!" The sad expression that evaded his face disappeared in a second. I was left wondering what was it that saddened him so much.
Wait! Why am I wondering? It's not like I have anything to do with him.
I didn't push him further and we sat in the silence once again which didn't lasted long, the gratitude goes to my stomach. He grinned at me and I had to supress my embarrassment.
"We can't stay here tonight" I replied, with a frown.
"I wasn't planning to" He stood up and started walking on the road. My nerves went haywire and started following him.
"Wait! Where are you going?" I exclaimed, running behind him.
"Hell!"
"Ahaan!"
"Meza!"
"Stop it! Can't you behave like a normal human for a second?" I snapped, grabbing his arm. He whirled around to face me.
"I try but you don't comply"
"Where are you going?" I asked him for the nth time and he sighed.
"Anywhere. Maybe I could call Rishi and get help" he informed.
"Alright, let's go!" I started leading us but he didn't caught up. I turned behind to see him staring at me wide eyed
"What?" I asked with a frown.
"You are coming with me?" The surprise was too much evident and i felt a heat creep my cheeks.
"I... you.. You are too dumb to be left alone!" I cleared my throat. He watched me amused, not believing my words. Who am I kidding? Even I wouldn't believe my words.
Even then, what kind of man is he? Is he going to leave me alone here at this time? Where are his manners? Jerk!
"Sure, I even get scared" He retorted with a smirk and the embarrassment churned within me at his sarcasm.
Damn you Ahaan!
"I know" Whatever the respect I had, I gathered and started walking.
After 40 minutes, without any car giving us lifts, I crumbled on the ground, panting heavily. "I can't walk anymore" I gasped.
"So don't" the bastard didn't even have the decency to stop by.
"Do you even know where are we going? This seems like the outskirts" I said in painful voice.
"Ofcourse it is" He finally stopped and turned to me. Not even a single drop of sweat on his face while I was literally bathing in mine.
"Wait!" The sudden idea struck me.
"This is at the south of the city right? Near the beach?" The enthusiasm ran in my voice, making him knit his eyebrows in confusion before he nodded his head.
"As far as I remembered, your father booked a honeymoon suite in Revella, right?" He still didn't seem to catch what I was trying to say.
"So?"
"It is maybe a few kilometres away from this place! We can take a lift there" He seem to not be as enthusiastic as I am.
"I think I made you clear that I didn't want to marry you, Meza. What's the point of going to Honeymoon?" He asked with a frown and I did notice the hint of arrogance in his voice.
"Hold your horses mister! I hate you too. What I meant was, we can stay in the hotel until we figure this out" The realisation dawned at him and his mouth formed an O shaped. I wanted to really slap him.
His expression morphed slowly, as if contemplating the idea. "I don't have money. And what if father gets to know our location?"
"I don't think so! Because, when the bride and groom, both run away, going to their honeymoon suite is the last thing they do" I reasoned out. He still seemed unconvinced, biting his lower lip. My eyes darted to the pair of soft flesh and immediately looked away.
Do they taste like honey and mint and all that shit, like all girls in romantic books brag? Let's confirm-
Enough!
"Ahaan, we can't roam like this. And I'm pretty sure, we won't be caught. My dad would be raising hell and wouldn't let your dad sit quietly so they wouldn't see if the suite was really used or not!" My words didn't have the full guarantee but the thought of having a roof over the head made me desperate.
"But, my flight-"
"You missed it, thanks to me. When I'm giving out such mind blowing advices, you should listen to me!" I narrowed my eyes at him and he rolled his.
"You wouldn't listen to me, will you?" He asked in annoyance and I Air fisted, knowing the defeated look in his eyes. I finally convinced him for something!
"No, you better don't expect it" I grinned.
"I wouldn't dare" and his lips curved into a beautiful smile, a tinny winny one but it was there.
"Alright, so how are we gonna get a lift, genius?" He spared me another of his challenging glance and I had to think about it.
The few cars which passed us didn't even stopped by us. The point is, they need to stop.
"Watch me!" I smirked at him and started walking in the middle of the road. Ahaan shrieked in horror as a car was approaching us.
"What the hell, Meza! Are you planning to kill yourself? Get here right now!" His growl fell on my deaf ears as I stood on the edge, ready to move in the corner if the heartless driver didn't stop the car.
The car stopped a few feet away from me, but I didn't get time to celebrate because I was yanked to the side of the road, right into the chest of a very familiar body, his cologne enveloping my senses.
Oh man!
