It was a nice Friday morning on the breezy coast of Huntington Beach, California. I've been called back to Top gun for god know what reason. I honestly wasn't too exited about going back, the only part I was exited about was being my mom and sister Amelia. I don't visit them too often so it feels nice too be going back. I have all my things packed up and ready to go, I hop into my car and headed off to Miramar.
The drive wasn't that long but before I could realise it my mom and my sister were giving me the biggest hugs ever. I hadn't seen them in quite a while, and boy did my sister get big. It almost felt like yesterday she was riding a bicycle with her little pig tails
"Its good to have you back Amber" my mom said with the biggest smile on her face.
"its good to be back, you still got that bar mom?" I asked her
" ya I do! your nice friend phoenix has been coming quite a bit." she said
"ok perfect! I'm gonna tell phoenix too come " I said with excitement. Natasha and I have been really good friends since naval academy. she has helped me a lot, she helped when I had my first bird strike and I had to eject, aswell as my first breakup
"so how's it going with that boyfriend of yours?" my sister Amelia asked
"what boyfriend?" I ask back cuz I'm currently single
"the guy awkward guy, the ones call sign is chicken!" the says laughing
"oh you mean rooster? Bradley?" I question her forgetfulness
"Ya that one!" she says out loud
"oh we kinda went our separate ways after top gun" I said with a sigh
"oh ya. it wasn't gonna last too long anyways." my sister said with the most stupid look on her face
"AMELIA BENJAMIN" I hear my mom yell at her
The biggest smile pops up on my face as hers turns burning red.
a while after I start getting ready to go to the hard deck. I put on and little with tank top with a pair of brown jeans. i put my blond hair into a pony tail and put my sunglasses over my head.
unlike my mother I have blond hair. both me and Amelia do. me and Amelia are half sisters tho. I don't really have a dad. my mom never wanted to talk about him. all I know is that him and my mom had a little hook up back in the 80s and when she got pregnant my dad refused to help out. I know he is a pilot aswell, mom said I get my good flying skills from him. she said he is one of the best pilots top gun has ever produced
I get to the hard deck and I saw my mom talking to some guy with a bunch of patches all over his jacket. I got a beer from my mom and in the corner of my eye I see phoenix.
