Chapter Ten - Chaos ensues

"Psssst, Monty!" A voice alerted the sleeping boy and forced him to practically jump out of his skin, he jolted upwards and nearly wacked the person who woke him in the face.

It was Carla!

Her eyes were red, had she been crying? No, she was far too happy. Where had she gone? With Felix? No, Felix went home. What even happened? Monty contradicted himself over and over in his brain and degraded himself everytime.

"C-Carla?" Monty rubbed his eye to make sure he wasn't hallucinating the girl of his dreams.

"Yeah? What?" Her mouth was slightly ajar as she finished giggling at the gingers confusion.

"What time is it? I thought you went home? So many questions.." He rubbed his forehead and reached around for his glasses.

Carla giggled and stroked the boys head mockingly, "I left for one minute to go get stoned with Buggs and you fall asleep, clearly shows I'm the one keeping you entertained."

Monty sat up straight and looked at Carla for a while, then sneaked a glimpse at her lips which formed into a small smile as if to hint she knew what the ginger was doing.

Fuck, does he actually like her?

There's no way. Even if he did, she wouldn't like him back at all so it's all a waste of time. It's just because he's fresh out of a breakup and craves that female attention that most boys do.

That's it, there's nothing more to it.

As Monty snaps out of his daydream, Carla's eyes noticeably began to flicker and her balance began to falter.

Her eyes closed as she practically collapsed but just in time, Monty put his arms out to steady her.

"Are you okay??" He stands up quickly and wraps his arms around her to get her to stand upright on her own two feet, but maybe that wasn't the only reason.

"Woah.." She giggled like an airhead, swaying slightly from side to side, "Sorry, I need to sit down."

"Don't worry, do you need anything? A drink or can you stomach some food?"

"Some water would be nice, thank you." Her smile grew and Monty felt his cheeks flush, without another word he turned and left the room swiftly to get Carla a glass of water.

As he entered the living room, he noticed Buggs sat alone on the corner of the couch, lighting another spliff and taking a long drag.

"Hey, you okay?" Monty speaks up.

"Oh yeah, it's been so quiet I forgot I was even at a party. How's Jerome?" Buggs turned to face Monty as he blew the smoke out of his mouth so he could speak.

"He's fine, ended up dozing off on the sofa like a little baby," He giggled childishly whilst walking over to the sink and picking up a glass to fill.

"Hey, where is everyone else?" He shouted over the strong stream flowing out of the tap.

"Well, Billy and Ted went upstairs so I think you can put two and two together. I last saw Nugget and Lily in the garden, but who knows where they could be now. Felix and Cindy had some stupid half-assed bitchy argument which made Felix storm out and Cindy run after him, but she ended up coming back and got herself and uber. Diana got picked up by her parents aaaand that's about it." Buggs concluded.

"Damn, do you have any idea about what Felix and Cindy argued about?" Monty queried, wanting an answer to his burning desire that had been playing in his mind since his best friend had mentioned it.

"Couldn't tell you, the music was too loud and if I'm honest, I didn't care that much to strain my ears to listen." He shrugged and took a swing of his drink before scowling and spitting it back into the red plastic cup, "I wouldn't worry, Cindy and Felix have arguments over the stupidest things. Considering the amount of boyfriends Cindy has, it was probably about one of them."

"Once a hoe always a hoe." A voice chuckled.

Buggs and Monty whipped their heads around a burst out laughing when they realised it was Carla.

"Not very 'girls girl' of you, Carlotta." Buggs sneered jokingly.

"Oh please, Cindy's barely a girl." She snorted as she waddled her way onto the couch Buggs was on and plopped herself on the middle seat, her gaze shifting to Penny.

"Hey, is she alright?" She lifted her head at the girl sprawled out on the floor.

"Oh, I didn't even realise she was there. She's been quiet ever since Diana left." Buggs copied Carla and looked at the blonde presumably asleep on the floor.

"Is she asleep?" Monty came over to the scene and handed Carla her drink, earning a small 'thanks' from the brunette as she sipped it contently.

"She's definitely passed out, if anything." Buggs scowled as he examined her limp state.

Monty approached Penny's lifeless body, and flipped her around so she was laid on her back.

And that's when he noticed.

Penny wasn't asleep, she was-

"Shit."

Sparks began to flicker from Penny's face, then her body started to twitch slightly, gaining momentum and then jolting dramatically.

Chaos began to erupt. Monty backed up quickly and dragged Carla and Buggs with him, both of them protesting in confusion.

"What the fuck?!" Carla screamed.

"Let go of me man!" Buggs tried to fight out of Monty's grip, which usually would have worked, but Monty's gut instinct overpowered Buggs' strength.

And just like that, it happened.

A large boom filled the room, causing everyone's ears to ring.
