In all of her years surrounded by dumb and immature teenagers Katherine had never heard anything more ridiculous than what abe was suggesting they do. In all honesty she could laugh at everything that was happening. One moment mikhail was dead, the next he was alive, one moment she had no father and now here he sat trying to convince his daughter that lying about mikhail was a good idea.

As she sat looking at both her father and mikhail, both of whom had smiles on their faces like that had just won a prize.

"You are both, idiotic, ridiculous and stupid" she mumbled as she stood up

"Is she aware that all of those words basically mean the same" pavel muttered

She turned and looked at him her glare set on him for a moment "uncle do be quite and yes I am aware, but all three are needed to describe those two idiots"

She took a deep breath before she turned on her father and mikhail "no" she whispered

"What do you mean no, it's the most logical solution" abe spoke as he looked at his daughter "telling people that it was a training exercise to show them what could happen in the future is logical"

She shook her head "no, I refuse to let this be some lesson that novices have to learn. I refuse to have everything that happened be swept under the bloody carpet, no abe, it's not happening if you had lived it, if you had to kill a person you love then you'd know how this feels" she muttered as she looked directly at him "I refuse, I don't care what else you have to say, I don't care if you bloody tell them that vlad himself resurrected him but I refuse to let it be a lesson, not when I know it was very real" she muttered as she turned around and walked out of the cabin

All four men sat still for a moment thinking, looking at one another and then looking at the door. It took just a few seconds for mikhail to stand but Dimitri shook his head and stood up

"Not this time" his tone was set hard making everyone look at him

"She's my sister let me take care of her" he mumbled

"Not this time mikhail, this time she needs someone different" Dimitri muttered and slowly walked towards the door before he sighed and looked back at them "she has been through so much, don't push her trauma away, her nightmares away so that you can fix this. This isn't just about you mikhail, it's about her" he sighed "she wakes up every single night crying because she killed you, so think of a new idea, one that won't push aside what happened, spin the truth, create a new tale but don't use a training exercise as your excuse, not when every single person here watch her mourn you mikhail" with one last look at them he walked out of the door and began to run in a slow jog as he looked around for her.

She had managed to get far enough away from the cabin that she couldn't be found unless you were looking for her, she sat with her head against a tree deep in the woods of the academy, the shimmer of the wards bringing her a little piece of serenity at that moment.

It seemed like every moment of happiness she got was then followed by twice as many hard moments.

Logically she knew that twisting mikhails death to be a lesson for the novices was a good idea but to her it was like erasing the entire thing, it was like erasing all the nights she cried and yelled, all the moments she wished to switch places with mikhail, she couldn't do that.

"I know your there" she muttered not moving from her spot

"How can I help Katerina" he asked softly as he moved towards her

"Hold me...just for a moment can you please hold me" she whispered as she opened her eyes and looked at him "I don't need guardian belikov, right now I'd like you, just Dimitri" she mumbled
