Surprisingly the rest of the week went pretty smooth compared to how it started. This week was a short one as Friday was thanksgiving. As much of the students and employees raced out of the building for the long weekend, Faye sat at her desk.
Yes of course she wanted to go home to her familiar, but the thought of sitting there all night made her stomach turn. So ordering some food to the school, she sat at her desk working and eating pasta. She just finished marking the exams, and had started planning the rest of the year as she dug into her dinner. If she was gonna be stuck in this town for a while she might as well be prepared.
She wasn't going to lie. She missed home. She missed her friends. She missed the constant noise of New Orleans. But most of all she missed her Mom.
Ever since she was thirteen it had only just been the two of them. Andrea Lee Lebonair was a resilient woman. Even after loosing so much she never failed to keep going. She raised Freya surrounded by friends and taught her everything she knew.
She always made sure her daughter knew how special she was. That what was happening wasn't her fault. "You are My Grace" she would say. Her nickname for her daughter. Faye always knew it wasn't true though. If she hadn't been born on that stupid blood moon, maybe the "prophecy" or whatever the hell the hunters used to support killing her family wouldn't have happened. But she was, and she did get the power they were afraid of.
The last Lebonair witch.
The harsh reality of going back to an apartment she hated wasn't something she wanted to face tonight. At least until she had too. So there she sat, all alone in the school.

Faye had finished more work than she thought as she looked up noticing it was well passed sunset. Raising her hands above her head stretching in her chair, she finally took a minute to rest. She wasn't going to lie after planning her lectures, she was a little excited for the rest of the year. She decided to incorporate a lecture "Witch Hunts and The American Occult". Yes, she knew it wasn't a normal subject, but considering she had to teach history she decided to add in a few of her favourite subjects.
Taking a deep breath as she settled back down to do more work, Freya heard a door open and close somewhere down the hall. Whoever or whatever did it wasn't gentle either. Startled by the noise she got up from her seat when she heard voices. Whoever was speaking was too far away for her to hear but it sounded like more than one individual.
So grabbing her phone, she got up to investigate.
Entering the long hallway she walked towards where she thought the noise was coming from. Rounding the corner she was met with a group of people. Some she recognized some as the same students from earlier in the week. But two men were accompanying them. Still far away enough from the group that they didn't see her she looked at the older men.
One was tall and seemingly muscular but skinner than the other. This man sporting light brown hair and a fancy coat. The other sporting his regular leather jacket, Faye recognized as Derek Hale.
Why the hell are they breaking into the school at night?
Honestly stunned at the group she stepped out in front of them, the sound of her heels alerting them to another presence.
The group looking up to see a women walking towards them. The younger part mentally groaning as they recognized their history teacher. The older part was a mixture of confusion and intrigue. Derek seemed confused to see his mysterious girl here, while the other one looked her up and down seemingly checking her out. Usually she liked the attention but something about the man screamed a narcissist who thought he could get into her pants.
Stopping squarely in front of the bunch she spoke "Does someone feel like explaining what you guys are doing here at night on a long weekend? Looking over the fact that I locked the doors so your breaking in."
The group all shared glances as they pointed at Stiles again making it seem like it was his idea.
Immediately looking at his friends Stiles spoke "wait why it is alway me?!"
Dumbfounded at the group Freya cracked a grin but it disappeared as Derek spoke up.
"What are you doing here?"
Faye still not liking the male whatsoever rolled her eyes as she retorted. "I teach here. What's your excuse?"
"Aren't you a little young to be a teacher?" Derek dodged the question.
"Aren't you a little old to be breaking into high school's at night?" Faye replied enjoying sassing the dark haired man.
Seemingly having no retort he spoke up questioning her again instead. "Shouldn't you be doing family things it's thanksgiving weekend, why are you at school?"
"Not that it's any of your business Mr.Hale, but considering they are all six feet underground that would be hard to do." Faye said keeping her straight face.
She wasn't exactly sure why she shared that piece of information. Maybe she was ticked off at arrogance he seemed to radiate or maybe it was something else. No matter what that week she alway ended up at the old house during her runs. A strong pull always seeming to be pushing her towards the Hale. Maybe that was what pissed her off so much, he was alway just there at the worst times since moving here.
"Now give me one reason I shouldn't be calling the sheriff" slowly reaching for her phone.
It surprisingly wasn't Stiles or Scott who spoke up this time. "We are so sorry Miss.Lebonair, we were hanging out in the parking lot visiting after passing the Hales here and someone started chasing us." Lydia spoke.
Derek sarcastically added "It could be an axe murder right Miss. Lebonair is it?" Sending a smirk her way at him now knowing her last name. It's a start he thought.
Just as she was about to send a snarky reply his way a voice shouted at her "Watch out!!"
But she wasn't fast enough to defend herself as the figure seemed it appear out of nowhere pushed her violently towards the lockers. That was the last thing she remembered as darkness welcomed her, knocking her unconscious.
