Against all odds, a childhood's grace,

In photographs, a genuine smile's embrace.

But what became of that joyous child,

Whose happiness, now lost, runs wild?

She fears the light, she fears to love,

Her once bright spirit, now shadows above.

Afraid to smile, afraid to be,

The girl she once knew, no longer she sees.

Once she spoke with pride and might,

But now, in silence, she takes her plight.

The voices that cheered turned to scorn,

In her own misery, she's deeply torn.

From purest heart to a grave she fell,

Her soul in torment, a somber spell.

Life's a battle she's scared to win,

Yet too timid to let the darkness in.

Against all odds, she seeks her way,

To find that smile, to light her day.

In her attic, the past unfurls,

A journey back to herself, against all the world's swirls.
