Amalia

"We're going to be late! Hurry up." My manager said with a frown visible on his face. I glared at him before proceeding to put on my lipstick.

I had a concert and an event to attend in Seoul, South Korea. Honestly, besides being excited about the concert, I wasn't too thrilled about the event. It seemed more like a business trip than a world tour. The concert was today, and the event is scheduled for Sunday - my usual day of rest before the upcoming week. It's going to be a challenge for me.

I placed my lipstick in my white designer bag before turning away from the mirror to stare at the now agitated man. "Don't pressurize me."

"You need to work on your attitude. I'm older than you," said Mr. Jones, my manager, with a nonchalant expression as he pushed up his spectacles. Rolling my eyes, I confidently walked toward the exit of my suite. "I'm done," I stated, waiting for him by the door.

As he let out a heavy sigh, he reluctantly followed me. Together, we strolled into the lobby. I couldn't help but be captivated by its beauty – the floors, crafted from exquisite light brown marble, exuded a sense of grandeur. Above us, the colossal chandelier twinkled with breathtaking crystals, casting a mesmerizing glow. The white walls, adorned with elegant golden brown stripes, emanated a serene aura that seemed to envelop the entire space. And those sofas in the lobby - they looked so inviting as if they were tailor-made for a luxurious nap. It was everything I could have hoped for and more.

We were greeted by the hotel receptionist. In other words, Mr. Jones was greeted by the receptionist since I already made it clear that I wasn't there to make friends let alone talk to anyone.

"Have a safe trip." the black-haired woman said with a warm smile. Mr. Jones smiled politely before walking to the main entrance and opening it for me. I blankly walked past him and onto the terrace.

The terrace was stunning, mirroring the beauty of the indoors. A grand fountain adorned with twinkling lights had taken the place of the conventional roundabout just a short distance away. The portico was illuminated by rectangular-shaped lights, adding a touch of elegance to the ambiance.

"Okay Amalia, you'll wait for the driver and go ahead with him because I still have somewhere I have to be before going to the stadium. I already ordered breakfast for you; it'll be delivered by the time you get there so you don't have to worry about it when it gets cold. I know you won't eat it when that happens. "

I opened my mouth to say something, but he interrupted me, much to my displeasure.

"Also, don't forget to smile when you get there. The way you present yourself is important. They're still making a movie out of your world tour so you must behave yourself. They'll be cameras, eyes, and ears everywhere."

"I fired the driver," I mumbled but he didn't hear me. He was already on his way to the Hotel with his phone next to his ear and tablet in front of his eyes. Gosh, what was I going to do? I knew for sure that the car was in the underground parking lot...and it was not like I couldn't drive. I had a driver's license. Yeah, I would just drive there myself.

I could only drive comfortably in my home country, even though South Korea is also my home country because I'm half Korean. The memories of a past incident made it difficult for me to drive in other countries. Shaking my head vigorously, I reminded myself to not dwell on those thoughts to avoid getting anxious again. I sought help from the best therapists, and I am confident that I will overcome this. With a deep breath, I made my way to the underground parking lot using the elevator in the lobby.

I couldn't help but smile as I gazed upon the car. It was the latest model of my favorite car, and I knew I had made the right choice. After obtaining the keys from the chauffeur (who I had just let go), I settled into the driver's seat, relishing the touch of the luxurious leather. As I fastened my seatbelt, I took a deep breath, ready to hit the road and feel the familiar thrill of driving back to Canada.
