Ae-ri
Mrs. Choi gave me a stern look and I instantly regretted asking that question. Goodness, what was I thinking?
"She's right, though," her friend said, placing her hand on Mrs. Choi's shoulder. I glared at her friend because she was adding fuel to the fire.
"We've been asking you this for the past two years. I remember when you did the same thing to Yeon-Jin when he turned twenty, but it only lasted for five years. Yeon-Jae has been off the radar for seven years already. Honestly, it's as if you're hiding something from us." she continued and I stiffened up, afraid of what Mrs. Choi would say. This was all because of my big mouth, I shouldn't have brought up the topic.
Mrs. Choi let out an exasperated sigh and removed her friend's hand from her shoulder, "I know you guys are worried about Yeon-Jae. But there is a reason why we've kept him out of the public eye for so long. However, I suggest you stop pestering me about this and just be patient, okay?"
I bit my tongue and looked down as her friends nodded their heads shamelessly.
"There is one thing to look forward to, though." Mrs. Choi said, "Gochu Ramyun has extended the number of countries they export to, to over ninety countries worldwide. So, my brother-in-law is going to host a press conference tonight." she added.
"Wow. That's great news. So that means the overall sales will also increase? You guys are climbing the rankings of the richest family in South Korea, huh?" her friend replied, and the others nodded.
I found myself grinning at the whole situation because I was just reminded how I was going to marry into the top fifteen richest and most powerful family in South Korea. At least I didn't have to deal with my own family company's declining revenue.
Gochu Ramyun is a brand of instant noodles that was founded by the Choi family almost fifty years ago. The brand has grown into one of the most popular instant noodle brands not only in South Korea but worldwide. Mr. Choi's older brother is currently the CEO of Gochu Ramyun; meanwhile, Mr. Choi, Yeon-Jae's father, is the CEO of Grand Palace Hotel.
Mrs. Choi smiled and grabbed her purse "So, I won't be able to join you guys for golf today because I have to go home. You guys can stream it on the news channel if you want to."
After she left, the atmosphere shifted, and her friends frowned.
"I should've forced my daughter to seduce Yeon-Jin. Maybe then, I'd be able to join the Tae-ho group." her friend said as she folded her arms.
"Too bad Mr. Choi, the CEO of Gochu Ramyun, doesn't have any kids. Either way, we could've been at least a bit luckier." her other friend said. She then looked at me "You're so lucky you managed to snatch one of them. If only the SJ group weren't so close to the Tae-ho group."
I folded my arms and found myself grinning. Indeed, I was lucky.
Extremely lucky.

Yeon-Jae
One hour laterI stepped out of the car and took in a deep breath. It's been so long since I've been here...to my home.
"Mr. Choi, welcome back." the butler said as he walked up to me. I smiled, "Why are you speaking so formally to me now? Relax, I'm still the same Yeon-Jae." I said, patting his back. He smiled and nodded his head softly.
