The misunderstood actor, struggling to keep his career and lifestyle afloat
Current timeline story
Johnny Cage at one point was an absolute sensation. At one point. Now a struggling D-list actor, Cage was desperate to keep his lifestyle and avoid falling into irrelevancy, after his wife Christina leaves him, Johnny is barely able to join a drink before he is attacked by FBI agent Kenshi Takahashi. The Former Yakuza member wants his ancestral sword currently owned by Cage.
After fighting and tying up Kenshi Takahashi. Johnny is visited by the trio of Fire God Liu Kang, Sub-Zero and Scorpion. The duo are officially recruited by the Fire God and are trained for many months at the Wu-Shi academy. After losing a training battle to Raiden, Johnny accompanies his friends and Liu to Outworld where he watches Raiden win the annual tournament
Soon after this, Johnny, Kung Lao and Kenshi are sent to outworld to retrieve Sorcerer Shang Tsung. After being lead to his laboratory by Baraka, the trio discover Princess Mileena's Tarkat. Kenshi is blinded by her and the trio included Baraka are thrown into the prison to be experimented on.
However they are able to escape with the help of Reptile who they convince to join their side, they gain Ashrah on their way and almost bring back Quan Chi if not for their discovery by General Shao
After returning to Earthrealm Johnny assists in destroying the gateway portal and assists in the final battle at the Armageddon temple
With his timeline saved, Johnny is tasked by Liu Kang to tell the story of the other realms through the method of film, saving his career.
Previous timeline story
Johnny's story plays out widely the same at the start, competing in the tournament and aiding Earthrealm, the divergence begun during the invasion of Earthrealm, Johnny was supposed to die at the hands of Motaro but was saved by Raiden, he survives Sindel's assault and is one of 3 Earthrealm fighters to survive the invasion.
Fighting now in the special forces, Johnny defeats Shinnok with the use of newfound power and has him locked in the amulet. 25 years later Johnny has married and divorced Sonya Blade, marking her commitment to work and lack of commitment to family as his reasoning, he trains his daughter Cassie and her band of fighters before being captured by an escaped Shinnok as revenge, he is saved by his daughter.
An undisclosed period of time later, Johnny is back together with Sonya and organises the assault on The netherrealm Emperor and Empress, Sonya is killed by Revenant Liu Kang in this assault leaving Johnny distraught
When many fighters are brought from the past Johnny takes up an almost mentor role with his younger self, he takes out Young Kano with a nutpunch and later saves his younger self from the black dragon, he organises the SF for the battle at the time keep and is rewritten for the new universe

Current Timeline-7/10 huge potential can't wait to see more
Previous timeline- 9/10 almost perfect rendition of Johnny Cage if he had fought in the final battle at the timekeep this would be 10/10
