started as a lie

it's monday morning, 5 am. my mum wanted us to get there before lunch so we could go out for lunch together.

i got myself dressed and went to see if leah is up.

i walked into her room and saw that she's still asleep.

"leah, get up. we've got to leave very soon" i said. she groaned and i left.

i went downstairs and made my breakfast and sat alone and ate it.

i really hope the week goes smoothly.

i finished my breakfast and waited for leah. i went back up to check on her again.

she was still asleep.

"leah" i said loudly. she suddenly sat up.

"what" she said.

"we're going. your going to have to eat in the car" i said.

she got out of bed and i went to take my suitcase downstairs. she came down, dragging her suitcase with her.

"glad to see that sleeping beauty finally decided to show her face" i joked.

"it's too early for this" she whined.

"just get in the car, you can sleep there" i said, lightly pushing her to the door

we got in and i drove. i stopped at a mcdonald's and got myself a coffee and leah some breakfast.

"no crumbs" i said sternly.

"okay mum" she teased. i rolled my eyes.

she ate and then fell asleep. we were around half way there when she woke up.

"good nap" i asked.

"yeah surprisingly" she said while stretching.

"so we need to plan a backstory in case someone asks" leah said.

"probably a good idea" i said.

"so how did we meet" she asked.

"at arsenal silly. she knows you. she just doesn't know your my 'girlfriend' so that's all okay. we just need how we got together and who asked who and stuff like that" i said.

"oh okay. i asked you and it was after one of the games. i asked you out for dinner and asked you to be my girlfriend there?" she suggested.

"sounds legit" i said.

we went over a few more details and then arrived.

"welcome to the crib" i joked as i got out of the car.

my mum must have been waiting at the window because as soon as my car pulled up, she opened the door.

i hugged her and then introduced her to leah.

"mum this is leah, leah this is mum" i said.

"nice to meet you mrs jones" she said and put her hand out to shake.

"enough of that leah, call me linda" she said and pulled leah into a hug.

"oh" leah said as she was engulfed by my mother.

"alright mum you can let go now" i said, trying to free leah. i went to the boot and took out our suitcases and took them into the house.

mum and leah were still outside so i went back out.

"are you two just going to stand there all day? it's freezing come inside" i said. i took leah by the hand and dragged her inside. if it going to convince my mum, i'm going to have to sell it a bit more.
