in earlier comics, she was depicted as being born a girl but her parents raised her as if she was a boy until Bruce took her in and then she became more feminine but more recent comics (I'm gonna say starting 2010) began depicting her as a trans woman
idk this is just something I like thinking about
in both versions, though, she did choose Harmonia Joanna
