MAKI'S POV

I sigh, looking at the ticket that I've purchased to watch on me and Mattie's favorite show,

When we put our savings together each month, we'd pick on what shows we'd watch live...

"...It hasn't been that long... right, Mattie..." I talk to myself lining up for entry

I looked around one last time in an attempt to see if she could have come on schedule if she remembered that we'd be here,

She'd know that I'd be sentimental about these things and still follow our schedule,

"Two seats ma'am?"

"Yea...the person I was with won't be coming, but I'd still like to use it if I may." I say then they let me as I enter

Kaito was also sent to prison for trying to escape with Kei,

They say that Kei had drifted to India or to a different country of sorts...

My circle of friends is falling apart. What's the point of going back to school?

I'm still quite early as I sit through their soundchecks.

"Excuse me, Young miss...Are you not...?" I turn to the person asking of me, then I gasp

"The one friend of that disappeared Ajin, Maki Araki right? I've met your father once being asked about Ajins...I am Doctor Sho Fujikawa." He extends his hand and I quickly stood and shakes his hand

"M-mister Fujikawa! It's a pleasure to actually meet you in person..." I smile and bow

"Hm? You know of me? It's quite a coincidence to see you here for todays episode of interview..." He says and I scratch my cheek

"Actually, it's just pure coincidence yes...Me and my friend would always come to TV live shows every month if our savings could buy it..." I laugh and he looks at me

"I heard you over at the Entrance, but I didn't want to make a fuzz outside for you, it's true that your father had made sure to not have much paparazzi on you but you can't be sure with today's Journalists" he says and I nod

"...my friend...was actually the one who introduced your work to me...I'm ashamed that its the only one I've read from your works, The Psychology of Terrifying Immortals was the title I believe." I say and he motions me to follow him as we walk to the backstage

"This friend of yours...could it be Mathilde Loisel the Ajin?" He asks me and I nod

"Well I'm honored to actually have an Immortal reader take on my work...what did she think about it?" He asks me

"We'd have long discussion about it actually...at that time I never thought she was an Ajin but when I look back to that conversation that I thought we were just being childish was maybe the closest she could have honestly spoken about herself..." I say and thank him for offering me a seat with tea

"She was shocked on the possibility that an Immortal person would not have a soul... she says that, just as long as they'd keep learning the things they have to appreciate they'd never be 'soulless' on the books definition of being human..." I continue

"Did you believe her?" He asks me then I shake my head

"I was actually on your side once I've finished reading your work...but when that incident happened that revealed to me that two of my friends were Ajins, my opinion changed to their side." I say

"Would it be because they were your friends?" He asks

"...It...applies both ways I believe, Kei Nagai never knew that he was an Ajin and he is said to focus on evading arrest and custody... as for Mattie or Mathilde, her parents even knew that she was an Ajin ever since she was a child...maybe younger than 6 the age that we met...but she was still more human than anyone I have met...and that was the same for Nagai..." I say as he thinks
