A Match Made in Misery [Yechan × Jaehan]

Jaehan woke up and looked around, realizing he was not in his own room.

"What am I doing in his room?"

He barely remembered what had happened the night before and the only thing he could recall was Yechan hugging him while he was crying. He was still wearing the same clothes from yesterday. After a few moments of confusion, he hurried to his room, took a shower, and changed into uniform.

He then went downstairs to find Yechan in the living room, looking at his phone. Yechan spotted Jaehan and asked,

"Oh, you're awake? How are you now?"

Yechan walked closer and placed a hand on Jaehan's forehead. Jaehan's heart skipped a beat and he felt a warmth spread throughout his body.

"Oh, you're fine,"
Yechan said as he removed his hand.
"Let's go have breakfast? I waited for you."

Jaehan nodded and the two of them went to the dinning table. Neither of them spoke while they ate breakfast, but Jaehan felt a strange sense of calmness.

Jaehan and Yechan finished breakfast and headed out to the bus stop. Yechan was behind Jaehan, his presence comforting and protective. Jaehan smiled to himself secretly, feeling safe and secure.

When they arrived at the school, Jaehan went inside first. His friends were overjoyed to see him, quickly engulfing him in a hug.

"Are you okay Jaehanie?"
Sebin asked, worried.

"We were so worried. Why didn't you answer our texts or calls?"
Xen added.

"I'm sorry..."
Jaehan said, lowering his head.

"As long as you're okay, it's fine."
Kevin said, smiling.

They hugged him again. At that moment, Yechan entered the classroom. His intense gaze was directed at Jaehan's friends, as if he were warning them to stay away from him.

"Why is he glaring at us?"
Hwichan asked, frowning.

Jaehan looked behind him to where Yechan was standing. Yechan quickly walked to his desk, avoiding Jaehan's gaze.

"He didn't hurt you right?"

"Actually, he treated me nicely."
Jaehan said in a soft voice.

The group looked at Yechan in surprise, unsure of what to make of the situation. They had been worried about Jaehan, but now it seemed like Yechan was the one who had been looking out for him.

Jaehan and his friends Hwichan, Xen, Kevin, and Sebin were in the cafeteria having lunch. They were discussing Taedong, Jaehan's younger brother, who had to attend a business meeting instead of school.

"You talked to Taedong?"
Kevin asked Jaehan.

"Yeah, I texted him this morning. He said he won't come to school today because mom wants him to attend to a business meeting."
Jaehan said, with a sigh.

"What?! He's still too young for those things."
Hwichan said, concerned.

"That's how our mom is."
Jaehan replied.

"Poor Taedongie..."
Sebin said sadly.

Xen leaned back in his chair and said,
"By the way, Yechan is staring at us again."

"Oh yeah. I think he's looking at you."
Kevin said, exchanging a look with the others.

Jaehan was about to turn and look, but Sebin stopped him.
"Don't look. Just stay like you didn't see."
