You ran your hands down your face, exhausted, as your daughter sat across from you at the table, her birthday cake between you two, asking for what seemed like the 20th time in 2 minutes,"When is daddy coming home?"

And just like the last several times, you replied with a,"Soon."

You took a glance at the wall clock. It read," 12:45". He said he'd be home by 11. It's been more than an hour past. You sigh heavily, deciding to tell your daughter it's time for bed.

"Maddy, Daddy's going to be late, time for you to go to -," but you're cut off by the front door opening. Instead of greeting Tazer like you usually would when he arrived home, you remained seated at the table, fuming on the inside.

"Hey Princess!" He yelled, dropping his bag on the floor and picking up your daughter and spinning her around. Her little giggles resonated throughout the kitchen, bringing a smile on your face. But that smile didn't last very long once he turned to face you.

Tazer looked at you apologetically but you weren't having it. You turned to Maddy. " Alright, time for bed sweetheart, we'll cut your cake tomorrow," you ordered, knowing things were going to get bad.

"But mommmyyyy!!!" Maddy whined, ticking you off further. You didn't mean to snap at her but your mood was already disturbed.

" Up. To. Bed. Right. NOW!" you grit out.

She looked back at you with wide eyes, tears running down your face, before running away to bed.

You sighed, instantly feeling bad. You massaged your temples slightly before turning back to Jonathan. Instead of the apologetic look he had moments ago, a clenched jaw and hard eyes stared back at you.

"What the fuck, Y/N?!" he hissed.

"What do you mean, what the fuck? You said you'd get home at 11:00. When do you get home?! 15 minutes from 12!" You shouted back.

" That doesn't mean you need to yell at Maddy! You can't even be a proper mother!" He shot back.

Ouch. That hurt. You tried your best not to show it, but tears brimmed your eyes anyways.

His expression didn't change so he may not have noticed the tears threatening to fall out or chose to ignore them.

" How about you learn to be a father? Huh? Every. Single. Night. Since the beginning of this season, whether you're coming home from away games or even home games, you always tell us you're coming home but don't show up until she's in bed! She misses you Jonathan! She misses her dad! I've let it go for so long! But today was her birthday, and you still couldn't try harder to show up on time. Why come home anyways?! You clearly don't need us. You're only ever here to eat and sleep and then you leave. I'm done with this .. I'm done. She doesn't deserve this, I don't deserve this -" you begin ranting, tears running down your tears about half way through but you're cut off by Jonathan's lips trapping yours.

He starts slow, but you don't respond. Desperate for a response out of you, he pushes you against the wall and kisses more passionately, his lips begging you to kiss back, and you do. You feel yourself melting inside out, a warm feeling spreading throughout your body.

Too soon though, you pull away to catch your breath. Jonathan pulls away only slightly, your bodies still touching. He rubs his thumb over your cheek, clearing it of any tears.

"I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry. I love you. I love you and Maddy, I love you both so much. You are my everything and I don't know what i'd do with out you two. I don't want to lose you. Ever," Jonathan whispers out.

"Then why are you never with us?" you question back, softly, hurt pouring into each word.

Jonathan looks back at you, pained at the hurt he caused you.

He leans his for head on yours. " Go get Maddy ready, we're going for a drive," he states.

You give him a confused look, "Wait, a drive at 1 in the morning ?"

Instead of replying, he flashes you one of his famous smiles and you know whatever it is, you can trust him.

In about 20 minutes, you and Maddy are ready and make your way to Jonathan who's patiently waiting out side in the car.

Buckling up Maddy in the back, you make your way to the front, beside Tazer.

As you begin pulling out the driveway, you ask, " Where are we going?"

"You'll see. Oh and there's no point of asking me again cause I won't tell you," he replied back with a grin, and then a wink as he said the last part.

You huffed in annoyance, making Tazer chuckle, bringing a smile on your face.

After a 15 minute drive, Tazer slowed the car down and parked it infront of a massive house with a sold sign in front of it.

Tazer stepped out and you followed cue. "This is our new house. Those days I came home late, I was busy doing paperwork to buy this house and then renovate it for us," he said, with a hopeful look on his face.

You turned to him, the biggest smile on your face, "I love you. You should have told me about this, " you said.

" I wanted it to be a surprise. And I love you too, so much, I love you so much," he whispered back, pulling you in for a long, passionate kiss.

Somewhere in between, you heard a little voice squealing out an,"Eww!". You smiled into the kiss, knowing things were finally falling in place.
