Matthews p.o.v
"Matthew?" Rolling over on the couch I looked at Owen, "So Ive talked to Tyler about going to the dock, and he has agreed..." He trailed off, "But, we were also talking about your foods class mark and have decided that you have to do one more recipe before we leave, Tuesday."
"I don't want to." I sighed, Owen raised an eyebrow at me, collecting some cups from the coffee table.
"You have too, because if I fail Tyler won't be happy."
"I know..." Should I tell him? But what if it hurts his feelings.
"I'll call his father, and tell him to come here for one o'clock." He placed the cups down and walked over to the other side of the room and picking up the wireless phone. "Go get the camera and set it up in the kitchen."
Groaning I stood up and ran to my room to put something presentable on. But wait, why should I put on something presentable. He is coming into my house... But this time as a stranger.
"Matthew, I'm going to the store."
Swinging my door open I shook my head, Tyler said he didn't like Owen going on the bus, but Owen didn't like to drive alone. He'd rather go on the bus. "What about Tyler?" His tiny shoulders shrugged.
"It's Tyler."
"Well... Becareful."
He smiled, zipping up his blue hoodie then putting on a vest, "I'll get Tyler to pick me up. No worry."
"Alright..." I trailed off, giving him one last hug before walking him to the door. He looked at me quizzically as if trying to study me, before he could do or say anything Jeremy walked up behind him.
"Hey." He mumbled, before pushing past me, shoving his shoulder into mine.
"See you soon." Owen smiled, small, but caringly at me, he shut the door on his way out leaving me alone in the house with my ex-best friend.
"So what do you wanna make?" I asked, sliding two sheets of paper towards him.
"I don't care, I just want to make this shit and leave."
Biting my tongue I nodded. When we met to make the first recipe he seemed happy, now he didnt. He seemed cold, distant.
So I picked the peanut butter and marshmallow squares. Walking around the kitchen and getting all the ingredients.
When I got back to where he was standing we stood their kind or awkwardly before he reached over and turned on the camera. "Hurry up." He muttered.
I couldn't help but show the amount of hurt in my body language, my shoulder sagged and my eyes fell.
