also i would like to clarify that i am in fact sapphic so any offensive words used in this chapter that may also be repeated in future chapters are okay for me to say (i dont use the word on a daily basis btw but i feel like i can type it out😭)

id also like to clarify that this is 2007 so some characters may repeat the words said as a quote but not in an offensive way

Gigi was in that weird state where you're more than tipsy, but not enough to be drunk. She stumbled slightly, but wasn't slurring her words. and could completely think straight.

She sat down next to Tom, who was sat alone on the couch, staring into his cup. Gigi found that strange, considering there was a group of hot girls just a few metres away who he wasn't even attempting to socialise with.

"Hey-" She began, about to say a name that Tom doubted would be his.

"Don't," he replied, not looking up.

"What?"

"Is it so hard to get my name right?"

"Huh?"

"You know everyone else's name. Why not mine? It's not a hard name to remember, it's three letters. Are you just fucking with me, Gigi?"

"I didn't realise it was actually hurting your feelings, I'm just joking around. I know your name, Tom."

He finally looked at her. "Now was that so hard, Phoebe?" The two laughed.

"Hey! Phoebe is nowhere near Gigi. Oh, wait, never mind, totally rhyming."

"You're funny when you're not being mean."

"Hey, I'm not mean."

"Calling me the wrong name and spilling coke all over me?"

"The coke wasn't on purpose."

"Sure it wasn't. Convenient spilling something right on my crotch then trying to clean it? Totally not planned."

"You must think I'm a total whore. Why would I spill coke in you as an excuse to touch you when you'd let me if I asked anyway?"

Tom flushed slightly, but kept his composure as he allowed his flirty personality to show.

"Only if you asked nicely."

"I'll take that into account."

Georg and Maggie were in the kitchen, Maggie sitting on the kitchen island whilst Georg stood in front of her. Maggie was pretty drunk.

They were listening in on a conversation Gustav and Bella were having, when Jake walked over to them, looking Bella up and down.

"This is a shocking pair," Jake said.

"What do you want, Jake?" Gustav asked.

"Oh, feisty! You know, just because I let you give me shit in school, doesn't mean it's gonna slide here. Here, I can beat your ass. After what your little girlfriend pulled decking me in the face, you might just deserve it."

"Sure, Jake, ruin the party for everyone just because you got decked by a girl two weeks ago, that's not pathetic at all."

Maggie could see Georg getting aggravated as he watched Jake torment his friend.

"Don't get involved," Maggie whispered, "Gustav can defend himself."

"Listen, Maggie, I'm not denying that Gustav is strong, but, in the least vain way possible, I'm the only person here who's ever beat him in a fight, and he's been in a lot of fights."
