Sophia's pov:

The lights went out.

"What the-" Miguel started.

The tv went out.

It was dark inside. I heard rain drops fall onto the roof.

"What's happening?" I asked.

We moved away from eachother.

"I think the power went out." He said.

"What?" I asked.

"The power went out." He repeated.

We both stood up and started lingering around the room.

"Yeah i heard you dickwad i was just shocked." I said, slight raising my voice.

"What?" He yelled.

I stepped back, surprised by the fact he just yelled at me.

"Sorry." He said.

"You better be." I mumbled.

"Shut it Hansley." He said.

He grabbed his phone and called his mom.

She quickly picked up.

"How do you have wifi?" I whispered.

"Data." He snarled.

God.

Its kinda weird to me how fast things change between us.

I mean, im pretty sure we were just about to kiss and then now, 10 seconds later, were angry again.

"Hey ma- When are you getting home the power went out?" He asked.

I couldn't hear what she replied.

"What?" He replied.

It was quiet for a second.

"Alright." He said.

"Bye." He added.

He hung up.

"My moms not coming home anytime soon. She was giving some microneedling facial when the power went out, that room has an electrical lock and gets opened with a keycard. She's locked in there." He said.

"Is she gonna be okay?" I asked.

"Dude she's just locked in a room. She'll be fine." He replied.

"Jeez sorry for being worried." I said.

He sighed and plopped down on the couch.
