Annette's POV

As the gentle rays of morning light kissed my face, I reluctantly bid farewell to my cozy slumber. My trusty "Wakey Wakey" alarm by Felix jolted me into reality, its cheerful tune injecting a dose of energy into my sleepy morning. A quick shower refreshed my senses, and I eagerly donned one of the matching outfits Rose and I had picked out—an ensemble that exuded a blend of style and comfort, featuring black mom jeans, a long-sleeved top adorned with a delicate butterfly at its center, and my reliable Nike Air Force shoes. With my hair in a tousled bun, I descended the stairs to prepare breakfast.

I set the table with care, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee mingling with the delightful scent of pancakes sizzling on the griddle. My father joined me at the table, and together, we offered our gratitude through a heartfelt grace. We savored the meal, appreciating the quiet yet profound bond between us. As we concluded, we prayed for protection and guidance, entrusting our day to God.

My father informed me that both he and my mother had shifts that day, leaving the house empty. Soon, Rose arrived to pick me up, and we headed to school, our sanctuary of knowledge and growth.

After attending our classes and dedicating time to revise, we made our way to the cafeteria for some much-needed sustenance. The library beckoned, a haven of wisdom and tales waiting to be explored. Rose delved into the realms of fiction, immersing herself in the "Fifty Shades" trilogy, while I revisited the complexities of mathematics.

Post-lunch, our paths diverged as we attended our respective subjects. In biology class, Damien's presence became a distraction. Despite my efforts to focus, I sensed his gaze on me, his attempts to engage my attention with notes some asking for my number and gestures. But my determination to stay true to my beliefs remained unshaken. I knew my worth and value transcended superficial advances.

The day wore on, classes concluded, and I met Rose, who was as excited as ever and I told her my encounter with Damien. She gushed about how Damien and I would make a great couple, but I calmly expressed my disinterest, remembering the wisdom of being slow to anger. We continued our studies, our friendship a comforting anchor amidst the trials and tribulations of adolescence.

Later, in the tranquility of my room, I prepared a simple yet comforting meal—spaghetti with beef. I said grace, appreciating the sustenance before me. A quick scroll through Instagram it revealed Damien's following request, but I chose not to follow back. Instead, I turned to the Bible, delving into the book of Romans.

Romans spoke of God's love and salvation, reminding me that neither height nor depth, neither the past nor the future, could separate us from God's love. It reiterated the importance of faith, for through faith, we are justified, finding peace with God. Reflecting on these words, I drifted to sleep after listening to my favorite song living hope, finding comfort in the divine assurance that nothing could ever separate me from the love of God.

The week seemed to have flown by, and Friday arrived, bringing with it an event I was not particularly eager to attend. Damien's persistent advances and pestering for my number continued, but my resolve remained steadfast. In the midst of his distractions, I leaned on the teachings of the Bible, finding solace in its words and hoping for divine guidance to navigate these challenges.

On this particular Friday, the school organized a welcoming party for the new first years. My best friend, Rose, excitedly encouraged me to join, but I politely declined, promising her that the next time, I would gladly accompany her. Instead, I chose to remain in my room, finding comfort in the pages of the Bible and the soothing melodies of worship songs that filled the air.

As the weekend unfolded, our family came together, sharing a meal at McDonald's. It was a simple yet heartwarming gathering, a chance to cherish moments amidst our busy lives. On Sunday, I attended church, where I took on the role of teaching Bible verses to the children. It was a rewarding experience, and the verse that resonated with them the most was Psalm 121:1—"I look up to the mountains; where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth."

The day was a blend of praise, worship, and bonding with fellow churchgoers. We immersed ourselves in the teachings of the Bible, finding strength and unity in our faith. The joy that radiated from those moments filled my heart with gratitude and a sense of purpose.

Monday rolled around, and it was back to the routine of school. Damien's persistent presence loomed, a constant reminder of the trials life could throw our way. As I faced the day, I drew on the wisdom of the Bible, reminding myself that each challenge was an opportunity for growth and resilience.

In the halls of school, Damien's attempts to engage me continued, but my focus remained steadfast. The teachings of the Bible had become my guiding light, instilling in me the fortitude to stay true to my convictions. The week may have begun with its own set of challenges, but armed with faith, resilience, and the power of the scriptures, I was prepared to face whatever lay ahead, confident in God's guiding hand.

I love the song living hope. Hope you enjoy.

QUESTION: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FOOD?
MY ANSWER:I love indulging in junk food, especially the sweet and savory treats that make my taste buds dance with delight. Chocolate, pizza, and ice cream are among my top favorites. There's something about the crispy and salty allure of french fries and potato chips that I can't resist. And when I'm in the mood for a satisfying meal, burgers hit the spot. Gummy candies and popcorn are my go-to movie snacks, and a soft, sweet donut or a warm, freshly baked cookie can brighten my day. Though I savor these indulgences, I'm mindful of enjoying them in moderation, alongside a balanced diet for overall well-being.

But a piece of advice
It's important to prioritize your health and well-being by making conscious, nutritious food choices. However, remember that no one should pressure or force you into a particular dietary regimen. Listen to your body, make informed decisions, and maintain a balance that aligns with your preferences and needs. Healthy eating should be a choice, not an imposition.
