I haven't updated this in like 20 days T^T 

School has been completely taking over my life, and when I get home and done with my homework I only have energy to watch gilmore girls and read-

But now I have a tiny slither of motivation to do this so here we are :D

STATE OF GRACE:

Favourite line - 'we fall in love 'til it hurts or bleeds, or fades in time.'

Meaning - this song is about the possibilities when you first start falling for someone

Opinion - I love this song so much!! It's the perfect way to start an album, it's such a fun song, it's just so amazing.

RED:

Favourite line - 'like the colours in autumn so bright just before they lose it all.'

Meaning - this song is about the different colours and sides to a relationship that ended badly (*cough* jake *cough*)

Opinion - I love this song. It perfectly encapsulates the feeling of trying to get over someone (I talk as if I've been in a relationship-) and how love can be so strong that it becomes dangerous. Also, my best friend noticed this a little while back and I never realised this before - taylor uses autumn even though she's american. I didn't notice this bcs im used to autumn bcs I'm from the uk but I thought that was interesting. Ig autumn sounds a bit more aesthetic for a song than fall, idk.

TREACHEROUS:

Favourite line - 'and all we are is skin and bone, trained to get along, forever going with the flow, but your friction.'

Meaning - this song is about falling for someone you know is bad for you.

Opinion - THIS SONG >>> i used to not like it and idk why bcs ITS SO GOOD. It's now one of my favourites on red bcs hello the lyrics?? the vocals?? the sound?? the everything??

I KNEW YOU WERE TROUBLE:

Favourite line - 'a new notch in your belt is all I'll ever be.'

Meaning - similarly to treacherous, ikywt is about going into a relationship you knew was going to end badly and blaming yourself once it's over for not turning back when you first saw the red flags

Opinion - I always think of the screaming goat video when I think of this song 💀 but I do like this song

OG ALL TO WELL (10 minute version is getting its own section):

Favourite line - ok I narrowed it down to five:

 1. 'Autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place.' 

2. 'You told me 'bout your past thinking your future was me.'

3. 'And I forget about you long enough to forget why I needed to.'

4. 'Maybe we got lost in translation, maybe I asked for too much but maybe this thing was a masterpiece 'til you tore it all up.'

5. 'so casually cruel in the name of being honest.'

5.1. 'Time won't fly it's like I'm paralysed by it, I'd like to be my old self again but I'm still trying to find it.'

5.2 'Cause there we are again when I loved you so, back before you lost the one real thing you've ever known, it was rare, I was there, I remember it all too well.'

(what do you mean that was more than five... ITS ALL TOO WELL OK-)

Meaning - Jake gyllenhaal.

Otherwise we're gonna be here for an hour and I would have to dissect every line-

Opinion - where do I even start with this song? Ig I should start with the first time I heard it. When I listened to the og version of this song, if I'm being honest, it wasn't my favourite. I still liked it, sure. It began to grow on me as I became more of a swiftie and red tv got nearer (bcs i became a swifter between fearless and red tv) and I started to appreciate the lyrics a lot more. I do remember screaming (well technically silently screaming but anyways) the words before red tv so maybe I liked it more than I remember I did. Anyways I'm going off topic. When red tv was released and we got the 10 minute version, I was just like... WOW. How was there a time when I didn't appreciate this masterpiece? The lyrics are absolutely astounding. Anyways, the 10 minute version made me appreciate the og so much more. I'll talk more about the ten minute version when we get to its section later, but the only way I can sum up this song is wow.

22:

Favourite line - 'wHo'S tAyLoR sWiFt AnYwAy, eW.'

no I'm kidding it's: 'we're happy, free, confused and lonely at the same time' or 'it seems like one of those nights, we ditch the whole scene and end up dreaming instead of sleeping.'

Meaning - this song is basically about having fun. Also, I listened to a podcast and they said that the reason this is about turning 22 even though 21 is more significant (for you guys in america anyway, not so much where I am) is because turning 21 was ruined for Taylor bcs jake didn't show up at her party and that made me so sad T^T I haven't been able to listen to this song the same way again since then

Opinion - I love this song! It's so fun and upbeat and it makes me so happy every time I listen to it. I always just want to dance when I listen to this song.

I ALMOST DO:

Favourite line - 'I bet it never, ever occurred to you that I can't say hello to you and risk another goodbye.'

Meaning - this song is about missing someone and dying to call them but knowing if you do, you'll just be put through hell again.

Opinion - ok don't get me wrong. It's beautiful. It's heartbreaking. But it's one of my least favourites on red, I'm sorry to anyone who likes this song :(

WE ARE NEVER EVER GETTING BACK TOGETHER:

Favourite line - it's probably 'and you would hide away and find your peace of mind with some indie record that's much cooler than mine' purely because folklore and evermore exist and so taylor made the indie record that's cooler than jake's :D

Meaning - the title basically says everything. It's about ending things completely with someone you've been on and off with a lot.

Opinion - this is such a fun song. Not my favourite, but I still really like it. It's kind of like a big middle finger to jake, especially bcs of this:

Jake: *hates words being repeated a lot in songs*

Taylor: *makes a song that goes 'never ever ever' like 20 times*

I'm gonna try and be a bit more regular with my updates, but i have so much more homework than last year and I'm just exhausted 24/7 so we'll see-
