After calming whatever it was I was feeling, I moved back inside to join the table. Lauren was sat close beside Luis, who on looking at me pressed his lips to hers.
Another shot, another sunken feeling hitting me.
''Laur.'' Keana warned, a little louder than she had wanted it to be as Lauren suddenly pulled away, covering her mouth as she met my eyes.
''Don't panic, we aren't anything anyways. So, do whatever you want Lauren, I'm not here to stop you. I'm just your date.''
My hands were buried in my pockets, curled up into fists. I didn't feel what I was saying, in fact I felt the complete opposite.
''I'm also not dumb, so don't deny it. We're friends, so chill.'' Her face somewhat faltered, but she shrugged it off and remained sat by Luis through the meal.
I had to take a few deep breaths, and close my eyes whenever they got close. I really don't fucking understand why I'm even acting this stupid pathetic way. It's frustrating.
''Hey, Zac. You were incredible tonight, Lauren hadn't told us you could sing.'' Alexa smiled, rubbing my arm as if she could see how I was feeling.
''I'm not someone who sings in front of a crowd, but again I had no option. It was my only way of taking Lauren to prom, of being her date. So again, there was no choice to be made.''
''That's pretty cute of you to do that. She mentioned to us girls what you had done, we saw the video of it. Amazing.''
''Well, it was my first time, probably will be the last. Had to go big on it, making it something neither of us could forget.''
Alexa had cleared her throat as Luis was trying to stick his tongue down my date's throat.
''Can you not, Jesus fucking Christ. We understand you're happy to have Lauren back, but please be respectful and not do that shit here.'' Alexa spoke up, rolling her eyes as it seemed she also had a disliking for the idiot.
''Sorry.'' Lauren spoke up, moving her eyes to me as I looked down at the food I was now moving around my plate.
''Don't be, they're just jealous because their dates aren't paying them attention.''
''You call sticking your tongue down my dates throat attention? I must have gotten the two mixed up. See giving attention is showing affection, not forcing things.'' Lifting my gaze, he seemed a little shaken from the tone in my voice.
''What exactly is attention to you then Zac?'' He was looking for an argument.
''Admiring a girl for who she is, not what she gives me. Being gentle with the whole affection, making her seem like she is the only girl who could ever have my attention, making her feel what she should. Beautiful, nothing less than that. Surprising her with just how different you can be.''
''So basically being the girl in the relationship?''
''If you think it's that way, then sure. But I'm sure all girls at this table would much prefer the way I give a girl attention rather than you do. So don't get all cocky with me and try to act like the big boy, because believe me I will honestly put you in down to the level you truly are.''
Now my temper was rising, and I swear I could jump across and punch fuck out of the fuck boy.
''You don't scare me Zac, not all. You're someone who thinks way too fucking highly of himself, thinks he is better than any guy here because you have looks and a voice. I'd like to see you fucking try with me, because I would love to just put you in your place.''
''You think you could fuck me up?''
''I don't think, I personally know I would.'' He shifted in his seat, sitting taller.
