Chapter 35

Neon's P.O.V.:

"Aye. I'm exhausted", I said fatigued. 

Since we lost Sage, missions have been much more exhausting, because we don't have any second chances. Not that it would really matter because we fought to survive anyway, but the small reassurance that we won't die if we failed was gone, and it was horrifying. 

When I got back to headquarters, I couldn't find anyone, but I didn't really care, I just wanted to go take a nap, but first I wanted to say hi to y/n and see what he was up to. 

I got to my room and set some of my stuff down before knocking on the door next to my room. I didn't receive an answer. 

"Hello? Y/N?", I called out, but there was no answer. 

He was a light sleeper, so even if he was asleep, he would've woken up to my call. I don't remember him having any missions scheduled so I walked around trying to find him, or find anyone else. 

'Where is everyone?' I wondered as I walked around the building looking for any signs of life. 

I finally saw some people, or what seemed to be almost everyone in the meeting room. When I walked in, everyone stopped talking, and looked at me. 

Everyone seemed to be a little freaked out, but three them, Chamber, Deadlock, and Raze, looked terrified. I was confused and a little nervous about why they all looked so scared. 

"Uhh. . . what's going on? Has anyone seen y/n?", I asked. 

They all seemed hesitant, but Jett answered me. 

"That's what we're trying to figure out", she answered. 

"What do you mean?", I asked. 

"There was. . .and accident? I don't know what to call it.", she said. 

"Y/N he. . .he", Raze tried to say something, but she looked to scared to.

"He killed them", KAY/O suddenly spoke up. 

"He slaughtered them, took the enemy Sage, and then created a portal and vanished", KAY/O said picking up a chord and connecting it to his head. 

The feeling of what he had just told me was unlike anything I had ever felt. I could practically feel the blood leave my face. 

A video began to play on the screen in front of us, and unfortunately, it was him. He didn't look as focused or calm as he  normally did, he looked angry, and he was glowing, purple? I'd seen him glow blue once before, but never purple. 

I watched as he completely destroyed everything, killing the omega world doubles like they were just insignificant to him. I thought that his sword was supposed to limit his capabilities. Was what he could do even being limited? I had only seen him display such power once before, and that was in the my fathers lab. He only seemed to be able to sustain it for a small amount of time then, but this, it looked like it wasn't even hard for him. 

I couldn't wrap my head around it, it seemed like every time we thought he had reached his max, he made it look like it was nothing. But what was even worse, was that I don't think any of us have seen him use his powers out of anger and rage. He would use it out of desperation to protect, or maybe he would be upset, but never out of his rage. 

"It was so. . .terrifying", Deadlock stated. "Dreadful".

I saw the remains of the omega doubles, and to be honest, I came close to throwing up. How could he do something like this? A better question is why would he do something like this?
