I'd been around her the last two weeks following her every step she took. She's been attacked by Kingdom robots twice since then, but she managed to take care of it by herself. I have yet to be needed by her.
That was until tonight. . .
She had just come back from running a couple errands, and once I watched her go into her room, I allowed myself to retire to mine for the night.
I flopped onto my bed, feeling exhausted, jumping from building's or having to conceal myself to the point it looks weird for the people around me is hard, and takes a lot of energy. Why did she have to be so active, and so fast. It was almost impossible to keep track of her.
I put my headphones on and stared at the ceiling as 'Find a way' by SafteySuit played, and I allowed myself to get lost in my thoughts. It seemed that I had been thinking about my time recently, and when I would be ready to reveal myself to her again.
I wanted to, but I just couldn't bring myself to. I'd accepted that despite my attempts to shove away emotions out of the equation, I was still hurt. I was still hurt by the fact that she lied to me, but I knew that the only way that I could heal myself, was if I allowed her to explain herself.
If I allowed her to talk about it, then I knew it would at least make me feel better.
"You fight armies of robots and are constantly attacked by radiants without any fear, you can face her", I told myself as I took off my headphones and got up.
I stood outside her door, looking at it. My breath was slightly uneven, and I felt weak, maybe because of how tired I was. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea.
I sealed my eyes shut. "You have to do this", I told myself, as I brought my fist up to the door, and hit it three times. I opened my eyes and looked at the wooden door, waiting for it to open.
I waited for a few moments, however, nobody answered. My eyebrows furrowed, as I knew I had just seen her go inside. There was no reason for her to not answer the door.
I knocked again, and I got the same response. I was now concerned, I knew that if she saw me, she would immediately open the door, and that there was no way she didn't hear me. I walked back to my room and grabbed my sword, before returning and slicing the handle of it clean off.
I opened the door to find nobody inside.
Now fear had replaced my anxiety, as I ran inside the room, and found nothing. I opened the glass door leading to the balcony and looked down. I saw a group of people running out with her towards a car.
I realized this was the time where she needed my help. I'd let her take care of herself up until now, but whether I was ready to show myself or not, now was the time.
I jumped from the balcony, and started falling at very high speeds. As the ground began to approach, I jammed my blade into the wall of the building and slowed my decent before I hit the ground.
The car began to speed away, and I began to run after it.
I quickly realized that it was outrunning me, and I had to find another way to get to it. I jumped onto another car that was rapidly approaching me, and I guess that the person inside didn't really like that, because they started swerving and braking, which was not helpful.
I got off, and then looked around very quickly, and then I saw a guy boasting about his car, a fast car. It looked like a challenger.
I ran towards him and pointed my blade at him.
"I need to borrow your car", I said with rage dripping from my voice.
He put his hands up and threw the keys at me.
