𝑿𝑿𝑿 - 𝑨𝒏 𝒖𝒏𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒇𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏

「𝑶𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒂'𝒔 𝒑𝒐𝒗」

Sodo looked back at me as he got to the top. He placed his hands upon his hips and tilted his head.

« You're coming or what? » He asked in a joking way.

« Yeah, hold on! » I said as I started carefully climbing up, not wanting to hurt myself while climbing.

I was about to get to the top, but my foot slipped, and I almost fell, but Sodo caught my hand before I could fall.

« Thank you, Sodo! » I said, smiling as he helped me get up.

« Yeah... » He muttered as he helped me up on my feet on top of the little cliff.

We both sat at the edge of the cliff again and looked at the reflection of the moon in the water.

« You know, sometimes I tell myself that I'm lucky to have friends like you. » I said, out of nowhere.

« Like me? ... Really? » Sodo asked, sounding like he didn't believe me.

« Yeah, you guys are always there for me, no matter what. And I'm talking about Kelly, you, the other ghouls, Copia! You too... even if you're not always kind to me, I still enjoy your company. » I said, smiling as I looked at him.

« Well, I'm lucky to have you too. » He said as our eyes met.

I started blushing as he said that. We were both staring at each other before I broke eye contact because I felt my face heating up. I looked away from Sodo. He laughed a bit as I looked away. He noticed my reaction, and he could tell I was blushing even in the dark. There was a little moment of silence, but it wasn't awkward... well, almost.

« We should get back. It's getting late. » I said, getting up.

« Yeah... you're right. » Sodo said as he also got up, sounding disappointed but still agreeing nonetheless.

We both got off of the small cliff and started to walk through the woods to head back to the house. I was about to ask something to Sodo, but I noticed he was already looking at me. He didn't look away but instead just looked at my eyes... my lips?... And my eyes again. My face grew red as I saw him doing that. This was enough to make me forget what I was about to say, so I looked back in front of ourselves as we walked... that is, until Sodo grabbed my hand to stop me from walking.

I stopped in my tracks and turned to look at him. As I turned around, he let go of my hand and put his hands behind his back, looking embarrassed by the gesture he had just done.

« Uhm... can I hug you? » He asked quietly as he looked at me.

« Yeah...? » I said, opening my arms up for a hug.

I was confused about why he wanted a hug, but I let him... As he got my permission, he wrapped his arms around me and sighed.

« Thanks... I needed it. » He muttered as he tightened the hug and seemed to slowly get less nervous and more... confident?

He then slowly pulled away and looked at me.

« You know... I think... I think I love you. » He whispered, keeping his hands around me.

« Love me? » I said, unsure if I head heard him right.

He nodded and seemed like he was hesitant to say something. He eventually sighed and said what he had to say...

« It's been... longer than you think... But, I love you, Neptune. » He said again, this time sounding more confident.

I'm pretty sure that he could see that I was blushing furiously right now... Sodo chuckled as he saw my red face, and he decided to just go for it... He slowly placed his hand on my cheek.

« Can I? » Sodo asked quietly as his eyes darted to my lips.

I nodded while looking at him in shock. Sodo then leaned in and kissed me with no hesitation. As our lips connected, I could feel how warm and soft they were... how good they felt against mine. After a few seconds, he pulled away for a split second before pressing his lips against mine for a short time once again and pulled away from real afterward. It was more than I thought he would do when he asked for my permission to kiss me, but who was I to complain?

« I love you too. » I finally spoke, still in disbelief of what had just happened.

He quietly chuckled before hugging me again. I hugged him back before we continued to walk towards the house. It must've taken a lot of courage to confess to me...

「Back home」

As we arrived back home, we got greeted by Swiss, who was smirking widely at us.

« Hey, lovebirds, how was your little date? » Swiss joked, clearly oblivious to what just happened.

I blushed as he said that since the word lovebirds somehow made sense now... « It wasn't a date, Swiss. And by the way, we were with Kelly. » I said, wanting to piss him off for some reason.

« Wait, what?! » He exclaimed. « No way... you went with her without me? » Swiss cried out, being dramatic.

« Oh shut it. » Sodo said, walking back to his room, not saying another word.
