The next morning all the Scientists and those involved in the Avatar program sat a breakfast, Nate and Jake sat with Grace, Norm, and the other avatar "drivers", while around them miners, troopers, and other base personnel wolf down their breakfasts. Grace is engaged in a heated conversation with another scientist while Jake and Nate, are isolated from the conversations around them.

A pilot Trudy Chacon approaches, dressed in her flight suit. She's a rock-hard former Marine with thousands of flight hours out in the badlands.

"Sully, Colonel wants to see you in Armor Bay." She calls, waiting.

Nate gives Jake a puzzled glance. Jake returns it for a second before he pivots from the table and turns his wheelchair towards Trudy.

"I'll catch you later," He nods at his brother-in-arms.

"Yeah, I'll be in the lab with the others," Nate replied.

Jake nods back before he disappears, led away by Trudy.

"Nathan, you listening?" Grace's voice sounded, pulling the seal's attention toward the other drivers and scientists.

"Yes, Ma'am," He answers.

Later in the morning, all the personnel involved in the Avatar program are clambering into the bio lab to prep for the new team's first day out. In the Bio Lab Grace is on the move, gulping coffee, in a hurry to get their first sortie started. She hands a clipboard to Max.

"Start calibrating. We're on the flight line in ten minutes." She tells him.

Max nods and jogs ahead toward the link room. Jake, Nate, and Norm fall in with Grace as they enter the connecting corridor.

"What did Atilla want?" Grace questioned Jake as they walked.

Nate gave the marine a side eye, also curious as to what the Colonel wanted from him.

"Just Marines comparin' tattoos," Jake answered easily, though it was never that simple in cases such as these.

"Yeah... Well, listen to me marine..." Grace rolled her eyes, not buying Jake's lie.

She stops the group in the corridor, turning to drill Jake with a look.

"You're driving an avatar, now. That means you're in my world, got it?"

"Got it." Jake nods.

Grace turns and enters the link room. She crosses to the controls of Jake's link unit, as Nate and Norm catch up.

"That son of a bitch has screwed up this program enough. All this~" Grace turns and indicates to the whole link room.

"Exists so we can go out there and build a bridge of trust with these people, who can teach us so much. But thanks to Quaritch and his thugs the Na'vi won't even talk to us anymore."

"Then what's the point of all this?" Jake asked confused.

"If the Na'vi isn't talking to the Avatars anymore why are we here?" He added.

"We have new faces," Grace answered turning her gaze to Nate and Norm.

"You're fluent, well, at least Norm is~" Grace gave Nate a critical look.
