Quaritch goes still, holding the arrow as he stares at the two arrows in his chest. Neytiri ran up to crouch protectively over Jake, her knife drawn as she hissed at the dying human. Quaritch touches the feathers of the ancient weapon, then, with an ironic laugh, falls to his knees and dies.
"Jake?" Netiri turns Jake's face toward her.
In the shack, human Jake pushes his link open hard, gasping for breath. He hazardly crawled to the side, casting his wheelchair to the side as he tried to reach for the oxygen mask sitting in the emergency box on the wall. Slipping and slamming to the floor, he gags for breath.
"Jake," Neytiri put her hand to his cheek, worry filling her.
With the last of his strength, he claws toward an emergency breathing mask, dragging his useless legs across the floor. He scrambles toward it, on the edge of unconsciousness. Pulling himself up the wall, Jake reaches out, managing to grab a hold of the mask. But with fading strength, he fails to pull it from the box.
"Jake!" Neytiri is now scared he may have already passed on.
That's when her ears hear a familiar screech, and her eyes shoot up to see the dark horse Leonopteryx crash to the floor, chirping furiously.
"Xenruk..." Neytiri watched as Nate shakily stood, pulling his queue from his mounts and standing so unsteadily that Neytiri thought he was about to be sick.
"Inside~" He muttered, his throat dry and eyes lidded, sluggishly pointing to the shack.
Nate then fainted, rolling off his giant mount and onto the floor. Xenruk screeched painfully, tilting his head at his rider before nudging him with his muzzle.
Neytiri turned her attention to the shack, running up to look through a fixed window before vaulting herself through the shattered one, landing in the debris like a cat. She sees the human body lying breathless on the floor, eyes clouded.
"Jake! Ma'Jake!" She cried, picking Jake's human body up and cradling him.
That's when Nate emerged from his link, coughing furiously and falling out of his link, clutching his chest. This surprised Neytiri and she watched the muscular human pull himself up and greedily grab the second emergency mask set to the wall. Pulling it to his face and turning the knob, his labored breathing instantly calmed as he fell to his knees, eyes shut.
Neytiri turns back to Jake, looking to the side and grabbing the hanging mask. The air is still for a moment, and she fears she is too late when the soft sound of gas flowing sounded. Jake drags in a breath, coughing as his lungs are still deprived. He moves his hands to the mask to make sure it's sitting tight. But when that didn't work Jake pinched the knob on the bottom and the rest of the air came flooding in like heaven. He breaths, drawing breath after breath. He looks up at Neytiri, studying him as she holds him seeing his human body for the first time. Jake touches her face, his pale human hand against the blue of her skin. Their eyes meet across the glass of the mask, together, separate. Worldless.
"Haa, I see you," Jake smiled.
"Hmm, I see you," Neytiri copied, smiling as tears filled her eyes.
"We're alive..." Jake and Neytiri turn to look at Nate as he stands.
"We're alive..." Nate puts his hands on his head, smiling.
"Yes brother, we are," Jake smiled.
Once Jake and Nate had recovered they reentered their avatar states and rejoined the people as the war came to an end. Nate had met up with Ke'Kaya, and the four were now running through the forest when a woman's call caught their attention. The group hurled themselves over roots before pausing, seeing Tsu'Tey lying wounded on the ground. Jake kneels and Tsu'tey opens his eyes. Through a haze of pain, he recognizes Jake.

"Are the people safe?" Tsu'Tey asked.
"They're safe." Jake nodded.
Tsu'tey weakly moves his hands from the bullet wounds in his chest.
"I can not lead the People. You will lead them, Jakesully." He stammered, coughing on blood.
"No. I'm not officer material." Jake shook his head.
Ke'Kaya sniffed as her eyes welled with tears, sat beside her sister as she held her hand on Tsu'Tey's thigh.
"It is decided." Tsu'Tey silenced Jake.
"Now do the duty of Olo'eyctan." He pulled his knife up, pulling Jake's hands to clutch it.
"Set my spirit free."
"I'm not killing you." Jake shook his head.
"I am already dead." Tsu'Tey bit back.
"No." Jake readjusted on his knees.
"It is the way! And it is good... I will be remembered" Tsu'tey's voice is weak, but thick with emotion.
"I fought with Toruk Makto, we were brothers, and he was my last shadow." Tsu'Tey's hand clasps with Jake's in a fierce grip.
Neytiri looked at Jake with tears in her eyes as well. Jake grips the knife, pursing his lips as he raises it. Jake leans forward, blocking the sun. His shadow falls across Tsu'tey.

Jake's eyes well with tears as he recites the prayer for the dead. Ke'Kaya finally snaps and cries, turning to put her left arm around Nate's neck. Nate hugs his mate, shushing her as he two shed tears for his brother.
