A young woman on trial for her husband's murder, must prove to her small town that her "perfect" husband wasn't so perfect.
Falling in love with an older man was never apart of Micaela's plan. All she ever really wanted was to own her own bakery.
Until one day she meets Owen McDonald, a doctor from New York City. The two instantly hit it off. Being as though there was a 12-year age gap, Micaela's parents aren't too fond of the gentleman she brings home.
But that feeling soon vanishes and her parents accept Owen with open arms, her father at least. Micaela's mom always had suspicions about her son-in-law. And those suspicions prove her right when her daughter is arrested for Owen's murder.
After 12 years of abuse, manipulation, and obsessive behavior, Micaela has had enough and decided to end it all. Even if that means going to prison for the rest of her life.
Micaela soon realizes that there's no such thing as The Perfect Husband.
