Jay felt happier these days. 

He now has a group of people he can call friends, thanks to Daniel, the stunning transfer student he could only admire from afar before. He's no longer as lonely, and he's no longer as much of a disappointment to his father. But he knew that even if Jay told him about his accomplishment, his father would probably still think he's a bother. That man is never satisfied with Jay. Not when he's…. Anyway,

He called them friends, but in reality, Daniel was the only one he thought of as one. 

Zack was unpleasant, volatile and had certain issues that he refused to admit to himself. Jay also feels like Zack keeps sizing him up whenever Daniel decides to hang out with Jay.

Zoe is likeable; she is nice with Jay and does her best to get on his good side. Her passion for Daniel, on the other hand, makes Jay perceive her as a competition rather than a friend. 

Mira is okay too. She assists Jay whenever feasible, and because she is near the top of their class, she is a lot more pleasant to talk to when Jay needs a second opinion on Jay's daily fashion plans for Daniel. Mira has no sexual attraction to Daniel; instead, she sees him as a type of model, which Jay recognises. He sees her as a close acquaintance, and if things continue as they are, Mira will most certainly be labelled as a friend.
