"Agent Coulson is down."

Althea sits up at Fury's voice, pressing her fingers to her comms as she accepts Tony's offered hand, letting him lift her to her feet. "A medical team is on its way to your location." Another agent says.

"They're here. They called it." Fury responds and Althea sighs softly, looking down.

She heads back inside with Tony and Steve, dragging the door shut behind them and once Tony is out of his suit, they head out to the main deck, all claiming a seat around the table with Fury on the other side. "These were in Phil Coulson's jacket." Fury says. "I guess he never did get you to sign them." Fury tosses a deck of bloodied cards onto the table and Althea glances down briefly. "We're dead in the air up here. Our communications, the location of the Cube, Banner, Thor, I got nothing for you." Fury says.

"I lost my one good eye. Maybe I had that coming. Yes, we were going to build an arsenal with the Tesseract. I never put all my chips on that number, though, because I was playing something even riskier. There was an idea, Stark and Althea know this, called the Avengers Initiative. The idea was to bring together a group of remarkable people, to see if they could become something more. To see if they could work together when we needed them to, to fight the battles that we never could. Phil Coulson died still believing in that idea. In heroes." Fury says and Althea looks at Tony when he gets up suddenly before walking out of the room. "Well, it's an old-fashioned notion." He adds and Althea sighs before getting up to follow Tony.

"Tony." She says and he turns around.

"Still gonna defend him?" He asks and she hesitates slightly.

"It's not that simple." Althea responds.

"Someone's dead, Thea. That makes it that simple." Tony responds and she clears her throat.

"He's my husband, Tony. I've spent centuries with him." She says.

"And when you got stranded here, Coulson was the first person to offer you a place to stay. At least, that's what you told me." Tony says.

"He was. And I'm upset he's dead, I am. You just have to understand how I have a deeper attachment to Loki. He's been everything to me for most of my life. I've been around for more than a millennia, Tony and I have had him for the majority of it. He was the first friend I made. He was the first person other than my father who cared about me. He was the first person other than my father that I ever trusted. That doesn't just go away. I am so grateful to all of you that made my life easier here but I have spent the last twenty years miserable because I don't know what to do with myself if I don't have him." Althea says. "I just got him back and now you all want me to fight him. I can't do that. Okay? I can't. I will fight with you against his army. But I will not fight him." She says.

"I'm sorry. You're right." Tony says. "I'm not angry at you."

"It's fine. I'm sure if Thor were here, you'd be angry with him." Althea says, following him as he starts walking again.

"Probably but I wouldn't tell him. Guy's huge." Tony responds and she rolls her eyes.

"I've been kicking his ass since we were kids. You'd be fine." She says.
