Happy Wednesday everyone :3
We're officially over the halfway point for this book and I've figured out that I should have the whole thing posted by the end of the year 👀👀

I wrote 2 chapters and a scene from another part this week so I'm definitely gonna finish this book on time for the new year, and when I have, I'll get right onto starting the final part of the Rhymes and Rhythms trilogy 👀👀👀

However, I still have another 14 or so chapters to write and 21 to post after this, so for now we'll just focus on book 2 lolol 🤭😅

As you can probably tell from the title, this part features Levi getting sick. It's a relatively short part but I hope you all enjoy it nonetheless 😊😊

Chapter Song: CityOfTheSick - Aryia

-

I finished making breakfast for Levi, having already had some myself. Aryia had left for a day-long recording session with Kévin a little while ago and Eileen was at work, leaving the two of us alone until our roommates got back

I looked at the clock. Levi should've been up by now. Levi almost always got up at the same time. I went to my son's room and softly rapped my knuckles against the door.

"Levi, it's time to get up, sweetheart." I said through the gap in the door. There was no response. "C'mon, Levi.

A small groan was my only response; something I didn't like the sound of.

"I'm coming in." I told him before opening the door by the handle.

There were several sheets all piled on top of one another. I wondered why he'd piled so many on his bed and went over to look under the blankets, only to find my son violently shivering and moaning. His face was pale with the exception of his forehead and cheeks which were flushed a rosy pink.

He shivered and moaned in pain as I gently put my hand on my son's head. He was burning up.

Levi stirred slightly and opened his eyes. His light-brown flecked with forest green eyes looked dull and glazed over and sleepy. He gave me a weak look, his face sad and reflecting how horrible he felt.

"M-Momma..." He trailed off, unable to say anything else before he started crying.

I sat down on Levi's bed and gently dried my little boy's eyes. I delicately stroked his cheek, hating how high of a fever he had. I moved my hand from the dark-haired boy's cheek to his head.

"Shhh. It's okay, Little Wolfy." I told Levi soothingly when he tried to sit up. "You don't have to get up. Just stay in bed and rest. I'll stay at home and take care of you, okay? Stay in bed and don't get up, alright?"

My little boy nodded slightly and I softly kissed him on the forehead. "Just get some rest and you'll feel better, okay?"

I didn't think Levi was really listening to me though, because by the time I left the room he was already asleep again. It took me by surprise how quickly he managed to fall asleep. I got up and went back to the kitchen where I'd left my cell phone and made a few calls to my clients, finishing them with Mrs. Jones who would have been my last client for the evening.

I listened as it rang several times. I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't answer; she was at work, after all. But eventually I was met with the familiar sound of the middle-aged woman's voice that I recognized wasn't from her voicemail message.

"Hello?" Mrs. Jones' voice greeted.

"Hey, Delilah, it's Evra." I replied.

"Oh, hello, Evra. Is everything alright?" The dark haired woman asked.
