You asked me today,
How much I love you.
And I sat for a moment,
Trying to conjure the right words.
Until eventually,
I told you,
That if I could start my life over,
The only thing I would change,
Is perhaps a soft smile,
Kept on my face,
As I venture down the path of trauma,
Knowing your hand,
Waits outstretched for me in the end.
