Speeding to his wing, Stephanos stopped in one of the many lounge areas and opened a window to gain a breath of fresh air to calm his high rising anger.

“Stephan,” His papa called as he rushed down the hall to find him, noticing his son standing by the window he sighed,”Little one-” he started, unintentionally fueling more heat to the flame

“I don't want him here,” Stephanos murmured, his voice steady with an undertone of anger, his fists clenching as he kept his gaze to the calming scene of nature

“I understand that, little one,” Marcus spoke calmly, not unfamiliar with his son's anger,”Even so, Aro has made his decision and you know as well as I that he won't change his course of action,” he said, walking closer to the prince hoping his words would cause him to think about the situation rationally

“Does he not understand the logic of my reaction? Of my reality?” Stephanos finally looked away from the window and stared at his Papa,”Does he not recall that I am cursed?” he questioned, his voice scarily calm

“You are not cursed, Stephan,” Marcus replied softly, causing his son to scoff and turn away from his walking to a drawer and pulling out his special made cigarettes,”And trust that he does, your father would not make such a decision without thinking it through.”

“And yet here we are,” Stephanos muttered, lighting the cigarette and chuckled as he glanced at his Papa,”You’re on his side,” he stated, and lifted the cigarette to his lips

This wasn't a question but an observation, Marcus knew this and sighed taking a seat on the couch,”It’s not that simple-” he tried

“Isn’t though? You think he’s right in forcing him to live here,” Stephanos questioned sarcastically, dramatically turning and pointing at the king, a crazy glint in his eyes,”There is nothing I can give him!” he yelled in annoyance, scoffing once more he walked back over to the window,”Leave me, please,” he muttered

“If you reject the bond it will slowly kill you, little one,” Marcus reasoned, standing with a sigh and walking towards him son,”Stephanos-”

“Leave me,” Stephanos whimpered, keeping his gaze forward,”Please,” he pleaded, no longer wanting to talk about the matter

Marcus sighed in return, granting his wish and leaving his son to smoke away his troubles

When his family and friend left the building, Jasper let out a sigh and felt what he could only imagine was deep sorrow.

Yes, he had finally found his mate.

Yes, he was now living in the same vicinity as his mate.

But that same mate had rejected him

And bluntly so, so very easily as if no thought was needed.

Jasper was filled with complete and utter sadness as he was guided to his new ‘quarters’, which was close to his mates wing. Jane silently opened the doors and watched as Jasper walked inside, looking awfully pitiful.

The girl could only guess that it was because of her majesty’s rejection of their bond. Though she didn’t know him, she couldn’t help but feel sorry for him as she knew of the hardships that came with mate rejection.

“Would you like to feed?” Jane asked him softly, thinking it was the least she could do other than leave him in his sorrow

“No thank you,” Jasper declined, shaking his head as he sat on the bed,”I don’t think I’d be comfortable with changing my diet so suddenly,” he told her softly
