3rd person pov
what she didn't expect was to get a text from kate the next day that said she found something out about her mom and she needed her now. willow shot out bed and she got dressed. she found out where kate and the others and she headed to the subway, where she got on and she headed to the location.
this is where she walked in and met up with kate and clint. he stood there for a good few seconds staring at her and she stared back
"you follow us?" he asked as he paused making the arrow to look at her in a way that made her seem that she was in the wrong.
"of course i did. did you really think you can leave me out of this and I won't know?" she asked and kate laughed as willow walked over and she began to help them with whatever they were doing. this was the new normal now and she had accepted it. kate held one up and she looked at it.
"what is that?" she asked
"way too dangerous" clint told her and she printed out the label making willow laugh as they kept going about their jobs and working on the arrow. willow finished them one after the other and kept putting them down
"so this holiday party tonight, is it a fancy thing?" he asked
"yeah. formal" kate said
"you know you don't have to do this. it is part of the job it's always inconvenient. It's lonely. You will get hurt heros have to make some tough decisions so if you're gonna do this, I just wanna know you're ready" he told her and willow nodded
"when I was younger aliens invaded, and I was alone and I was terrified, but then I saw you fighting aliens with a stick and a string. I saw you jump from the building, even though you can't fly, even though you don't have superpowers.. and I thought if he could do that, then I didn't have to be scared. You show me that being a hero isn't just for people who can fly or shoot lasers out of their hands it's for anyone who is brave enough to do what's right, no matter the cost." kate said and clint inhaled
"we're ready" kate said and willow nodded her head
"she's right. There was a Clint in my universe oddly enough and he wasn't like a dad to me or a mentor but I remember seeing him a lot of my childhood and looking up to this guy. I never wanted to use a bow and arrow or do anything like that but seeing an ordinary guy work with people who had iron suits and powers made me realize that being black cat was something that I could do. knowing that you guys had a Felicia Hardy feels weird because I replaced her but that's what I do now and I'm OK with it" she said and clint nodded
"you know you two act a lot older then you are and it scares me sometimes" he told them and they both laughed
"its our job" kate said and he nodded as they got all the arrows together and they left. they knew what they had to do and why they had to do it, they were ready and they had been for a while. they got on their outfits and headed towards the party where they walked in together and kate looked around
"I don't see my mom yet" kate said
"why don't you tell me what you do see? What are our assets? What are our threats?" he asked them and willow looked around
"well, Yelena is gone and won't be back so she's not here which is good. Other possible threats? That guy" willow said
"yeah that's he fired me from one of the only jobs I've ever had. Assets? We have those all over the party." kate said and they looked to see the larpers all around making kate smile
"I'll go look around to see if I can find anything else if I do I'll come back as quick as I can. I'm not gonna do anything I promise" she stated and she kissed kates cheek before she walked off and looked around. she didn't know what kate was doing with her mom and she didn't have any idea of anything but as she was looking around, she got more and more curious. she began to see people she didn't want to see and she began to see mayas group around them.
"god this is when i could use yelena" she said to herself and then she felt someone tap her shoulder. she turned and saw her aunt with a smile on her face
"yelena? oh thank god youre here" willow said and yelena smiled at her as they began to lead people out together and yelena watched the girl help her. the lights cut out and they ran off to the elevator together. then kate came running to them
"you two are chummy? Willow why are you working with her?" she asked and willow sighed
"I'm not working with her Kate she's my aunt she's quite literally Natasha's sister she's not gonna hurt me. I cleared the air. The only reason she still here is to help me. She's here to do what we're doing." she stated and kate stared at her
"see you just accept that she was a black widow?" she asked
"yeah, I do because Natasha was one too. You realize back in my old universe. I was quite literally an actual murderer, right? I hurt people left and right day and day. So I don't care that she was a white widow, I don't." she said and the bell for the elevator rang as they got off of it and they stared at each other
it was at this moment, that the three of them knew that they had to work together and that was exactly what they were going to do. this is what it came down to and this is what they had to do.
one after another they jumped out the window and they began to fight the tracksuits, willow separated from kate and yelena as they began to fight others and that's when jack came in. willow smiled at him and he smiled back
what she didn't expect was clint to come flying down into the tree and she laughed with a shake of her head and a smile.
this was going insane and what else was going to happen?
