Chapter 17: Car Confessions And Desserts*

This chapter title has a star on it which means it has slight smut? (lemon) Is it enough to be called a smut? probably not... it's still quite sexual though.

Sans had left to go get a glass of wine from upstairs and you were left alone once again but not for long as Burg strode up to you. You didn't know he would be here! You smiled as he bashfully approached you.

"Heya there... uh Y/N!" He awkwardly greeted, getting closer before stopping mere inches away from you. "Hey Burg! Didn't know you would be here!" He hadn't told you he was attending this event. "Ahaha yeah me neither... I got invited by Clarence, it came as a surprise last minute" He scratched the fur on his cheek as he looked away from you. "Oh really? Where is he?" You didn't see the blue bunny barista anywhere close.

"He's getting me a drink from upstairs... anyway I need to tell you something" Burg answered your question rather quickly. "Go on, shoot away" You were curious about what he needed to discuss, he looked rather serious now and his tail had completely stopped moving.

"I know I've been givin' ya signals of me wanting something more than friendship... and I did but-" He looked guilty as you could sense him sweating under your seemingly harsh gaze, you weren't intentionally doing that but unfortunately you had learned that habit from your step Father. "But...?" You think you know what's going on here. "I'm so sorry... me and Clarence talked and... turns out we both like each other romantically... we are in a relationship now" Ha! You knew it! That blue bunny had a crush on the brown cat! You liked Burg a lot but you knew Clarence liked Burg too so you didn't develop any feelings other than platonic ones.

"Burg... it's okay, I kind of knew... with the way Clarence looked at you and spoke to you like you were the only one he actually liked" You admitted, giving him a soft smile, it was clear he felt guilty thinking he might have misled you... though that could have quickly been the case if you hadn't noticed Clarence's fleeting gazes and soft mannerisms towards Burg. And you had an inkling Burg had felt the same towards Clarence but too shy to say anything. They were both hopelessly shy with each other.

"I- uh! Oh..." He was definitely blushing now, that fur on his body can't hide such things from your sharp eyes! "I didn't say anything because it wasn't my place to do so but I'm so happy you two talked about it!" You gave him a big congratulatory hug! You held his paws in your hands and smiled at him. "So when will I be invited to the wedding?" You teased, making him blush and stutter. "W-we are n-not quite r-ready for that y-yet!" You laughed and you let go of him.

"A-anyway... that's what I wanted to say and apologize if you caught feelings for me... though Clarence didn't mind if... we..." Oh, was he suggesting an open relationship type of thing? Unfortunately you didn't feel that it felt safe or comfortable enough for you for such a thing.

"Burg... you don't need to do that even if I did have such feelings towards you" You told him straight. It was sweet of them to even consider letting you into the newly formed relationship. "So that means?" His paws were slightly trembling, he really didn't want to hurt your feelings. "No need to worry about breaking my heart" It did leave a sting though, it seems no one wanted you like that... perhaps you were doomed to not fall in love ever? Or to be loved romantically. You shrugged in your mind, oh well, at least you have your shop and good friends.

"Oi! Burg there you are... oh, Y/N... err- should I come back or...?" Clarence came back with wine but stopped when he noticed you. "Pfft- No need Clarence, he's all yours" You gave Burg a slight nudge towards Clarence. "Mmm... good to know, I'll be taking him away now if you don't mind" Clarence handed Burg a glass of wine as he was flustered at the push you just gave him, you laughed and shoo'd them away, such a lovely couple. You didn't need to wait for long til you heard Sans from behind you with not one wine glass but two.
