Why would you do that?

The next morning I woke up early and went to get on with the day. As I had no plans, I thought I would get down and get in a workout. Staying in shape was very important in racing, and I hadn't had time to really go the last few days.

After that, I took a shower and made myself some breakfast. I had been contemplating the entire morning on whether I should message Charles to hear how he was doing today, but I figured he would be sleeping most of the day. This turned out not to be true, however, as I received a picture from Arthur while I was eating breakfast. A wide smile spread on my lips, as I saw a picture of a tired Charles.

"He doesn't remember talking to you last night" Arthur texted and I chuckled

"He doesn't remember talking to you last night" Arthur texted and I chuckled. "How is he feeling?" I replied and then received a FaceTime call from Arthur, which I picked up right away.

"Heyyy Cart!" He said, already laughing. "Hey A!" I replied and Arthur turned the camera around to film Charles who was looking grumpy. "This man was so drunk last night, that he almost fell overboard!" Arthur laughed, and I couldn't help but laugh as well. "It's not funny!" Charles whined. "Oh poor Charlie, are we hungover today?" I teased and he looked embarrassed. "Stop that Carter, you know I am! Arthur, give me the phone." He whined and reached over, turning the camera once more so I could see him again.

"I'm so sorry, I don't remember anything from our conversation last night. Was it bad?" He leaned his head on his hand while looking at the screen. "Not bad at all, don't worry," I said but Arthur laughed out loud again. "Not bad? You kept asking her if she liked Lando! Mate, you were hammered!" He exclaimed. Charles then immediately got up and left to go inside, leaving Arthur alone outside. "Is that true?" He asked once he had closed a door to what seemed to be a bedroom and sat down on a bed.

"Well..." I began and he whined loudly. "Why? Why am I like that?" I giggled and he had his face in the palm of his hand. "It's fine Charles, you were just drunk and curious." I tried to reassure him. "Did you have fun with him yesterday? I just remember seeing you on his stories, you made pizza, right?"

"Yeah, we did! It was great fun." I smiled to which he nodded. "I'm glad, Carter," He smiled a little. "Are you having fun at home?" I then asked and he shrugged a little. "Yeah, I suppose." He looked down from the screen. "You did that yesterday as well," I mumbled and he looked at me confused. "You seem like you're sad to be home... Did something happen?" I asked and it seemed to catch him off guard.

"No, nothing happened at home-!" He said and I frowned. "Then why don't you seem more excited about being there?" I asked and he sighed, looking at the screen. "I am excited about being here." He replied. "Then, what's wrong? You seem off Charlie," The nickname completely slipped my lips, and Charles seemed to notice. His expression changed a bit and he began to smile. "Nothing is wrong, don't worry. It's nice talking to you." He said bluntly. I couldn't help but smile as well.

"It's nice talking to you too. Sober, too." I teased and he whined. "What else did I say yesterday?" He asked and I thought about it for a moment. "Nothing much, you were just very fixated on me calling you Charlie suddenly," I laughed. "Ahh, of course. Anything else?"
