Luz POV

I woke up, disoriented. I rubbed my eyes tiredly, knowing exactly where I’d wake up.

“Belos.” I snarled, only just then realizing how nauseous I felt.

“We meet again, human.” He chuckled. He was already in his… creepy form.

This was gonna be fun.

“I’m not here to do anything to you. I just want to make a deal with you.” He said. I raised an eyebrow at him.

“Why?”

“Because I think you could use one right now. Or at least your friends could.” He then displayed a ball that showed all my friends stuck in the sky castle, the entire thing shaking.

“Stop it.” I demanded.

“I’m not the one doing that.” He grinned. “An old friend of mine is.”

Ignoring the comment, I continued on. “Just let me go and no one gets hurt.”

“You? What do you have some magical thing pulled up your sleeve-” He started.

That’s when I felt myself changing. Fingers got replaced with talons. I felt wings sprouting on my back. Fangs appeared where my teeth were.

Slowly, I grinned at him.

“Wha-”

“Yeah, I guess you could say I had something up my sleeve.” I smirked before rushing at him scratching away at him.

For a rough 5 minutes, we scuffled. I had the upper hand until he slammed me up against a wall, impaling his huge claws into my side, immediately drawing blood. He towered over me, grinning.

“I’m afraid this will be our last time meeting, friend.” He chuckled.

I already could feel myself getting lightheaded from the blood loss. My eyes were starting to close.

“No.” I rasped.

“It’s too bad really.” He grinned, claws at my throat, preparing to rip it open. “We could’ve been great friends, you and I.”

I suddenly felt a searing pain in my neck.

Then, everything went black.

~~~~
I blinked, taking in my surroundings. It felt as though I was underwater.
Was this… the afterlife?
That was when a black clawed hand reached for me. Curious, I took it. The person pulled me out of the water with a somber smile.
My jaw dropped when I looked at him.
“King?” I asked, tears brimming in my eyes.
He shook his head. “I’m so sorry, my son is still out there.”
“You’re King’s…”
