A/n sorry it took me forever to update!! I've been busy with being home and the holidays. Also my computer broke and it took me forever to get it fixed.

From that point on, they were inseparable. Y/n was quiet and kind, an interesting contrast to Chuuya's brash exterior. It took some time to get used to but it wasn't long before he began to recognize the fact that they balanced one another. Besides that, once she had begun to truly trust him and not just follow him around everywhere like a lost puppy. Chuuya had learned in this time that she had quite the sense of humor.

Sure, they fought. Sure, sometimes it was bad and they would vanish from one another's lives for a few weeks. They always worked it out though, always ended up back on the same team. It was the two of them against the world.

When they had found the Sheep or rather, when the Sheep had found them, things had changed. Chuuya knew it wasn't Y/n's scene per say, knew that she didn't particularly enjoy breaking the law, that she would rather have people like her than fear her. At the same time, she knew exactly how much it was his scene, and how they could stand to benefit from being a part of a larger group.

Chuuya had declined the offer originally, mentioning it casually to Y/n one night. Much to his surprise, his normally docile friend had berated him for letting such an opportunity go to waste. When he had expressed his concerns about losing her in doing such a thing, she had steadfastly promised to keep her word and follow him wherever he went. She was nothing if not loyal to a fault.

And so, Chuuya had joined the Sheep under the condition that Y/n could join as well. The other members were reluctant. While they saw Chuuya and his ability, his power, as something that could serve to benefit and protect their organization, Y/n was the opposite. They knew of her ability of course, Chuuya had mentioned it off hand to them when trying to convince them to let her in. They just couldn't see how she could be anything more than a liability considering her difficulties in controlling it and timid nature.

Y/n had worked hard at first to gain their trust, to try and become friends with the other members. It very quickly became evident to her however, that nothing she could do would change their attitudes towards her. She began to focus her attentions on improving her ability instead. That was how she found herself in the position as the Sheep's spy.

In her rabbit form, Y/n could easily slip unnoticed into highly classified or dangerous areas. When half transformed, her enhanced hearing and sense of smell, her ability to sniff out danger was indeed quite useful. Still, nothing she seemed to do was able to change their mindset about her being a burden. It frustrated her beyond belief.

Chuuya tried to convince her to quit the group, seeing the toll their outlook on her took. He tried to get her to look out for herself, but she was so stubborn in her faith to him.

"Come on!" he had insisted, "We can still be friends even if you're not here."

Y/n had shaken her head fervently.

"We promised to protect each other." she reminded him, "How am I supposed to do that if I'm not with you?"

Of course Chuuya had relented. He didn't really want her to leave anyways. Sure, the Sheep were nice and he liked being around them, liked how they relied on him, but it was different. He and Y/n had been surviving together for years at that point. Not that he'd ever admit it, but he cared about her more than anyone else in his life expect for himself.

For his part, Chuuya tried his best to include Y/n in the group. He always saved a seat for her at meals and was careful to make sure she wasn't cut out of meetings. Still, he knew how the other members treated her when he wasn't around. She never said a word to him, but he knew how cruel they could be.

The other members of the Sheep were in a constant state of trying to convince him to kick her out of the group. Since joining, Chuuya had become an integral part of the gang, one of the leaders. The sly remarks of his fellow members, the questions as to why he put up with her the way he did, Chuuya couldn't imagine what they actually said to his friend's face if his was what they were willing to say to him.

Still, Chuuya fought for her. He reminded people of her use in finding enemies, in sensing danger, of her loyalty. No matter what he said or did, no matter what she was able to accomplish on their behalf, no one seemed to be able to view her as anything more than a liability.

This uneasy waltz continued for a few years. They built a home, a family or sorts. It was nice, in a way, for both of them. Chuuya had respect and adoration and Y/n... well Y/n had Chuuya. Sadly, it was a life that was never meant to last. Fate had other plans.
