Chapter Four

Four | Is this some kind of joke?

"Lee!" I said in such relief that I knew someone in this class It made it so much less awkward for me, "Hey, Irene." He says with an awkward smile "Do you mind if I sit here?" I say with a hopeful face "Actually someone is already sitting here sorry." Lee responds to me with a sorry smile too which i respond with an one of understandment
"Oh. thats okay i'll see you during lunch break then?" I say trying to hide my sad smile behind a facade. "Ah, yeah sure.." Lee responds with before turning back to his textbook without even sparing me glance, What the hell did i do something? Why is he acting like he's embarrassed of me or something did I do something wrong? but I didn't have much time to dwell on my thoughts as I had to quickly find a seat.

"Irene right?" I hear as I sat myself down, I turn around to see a dark haired girl "Uh, yeah." I responded scratching my the side of my face "I'm Kiley." She says with enthusiasm and excitement to which i respond with my own wide grin "Well it's nice to meet you Kiley." I say reaching my hand for a handshake to which she responds with her own hand.

"I hope we can be great friends."

The cafeteria quiets as I make my way around tables and to the lunch line only to catch a glimpse of a familiar face, "Jackie!" I say as i make my way to the back of the school lunch line and geet her with a smile "How has were your classes?" I say with genuine curiousity
"They've been fine." she says with an voice I don't quite believe but before i could push more on the matter, our conversation was interrupted by the arrival of Cole Walter
"Hey, what are you doing?" Cole says looming over us "Getting lunch?" Jackie responds as if it isn't the most obvious thing. "Let me help you guys." Cole says before pulling us to the front of the line, "Do you mind if we just slide in?" Cole says charming the girl in front of the lunch line to which the girl gives a big nod and a lovesick look.

"You know this is privilege if i've ever seen it." I say to jackie in a comedic voice as cole leads us through the line grabbing and picking stuff he refered to a 'Really good!'. To which he so kindly payed for, "I want you guys to meet my friends." Cole says excited to show us his football friends and his girlfriend's friends "You know what i'm actually good i'm going to go meet up with Lee and stuff so i'll see you later?" I say to Cole and Jackie trying to get out of the fact that when appear at his table I was not welcomed with the most welcoming looks.

"Oh sure I'll see you after school then?" Cole says buying my excuse to which i respond with a thumbs up before making my way to Lee's table but while walking there I notice a lot of heads turning my way but I just chose to ignore them, "Hey Lee do you mind if I sit here?" I say showing desperation in my voice, as if simultaneously every head on the table turned too look at me then back at lee and then I heard voices whispering 'Does lee know her?' , 'Wow she's pretty' ,
'Lee you didn't tell us you knew her.' and ect.

Lee's face then turns sour and bitter "Actually this table is actually full so if you could." Lee says in an angered voice refering to the fact i should leave, "Oh, yeah sure." I say with a depressed voice turning my direction to find any table that was avaliable to sit at but my search was quickly interrupted by a certain familiar boy "You can sit here if you want?"

"Thank you, Nathan"

I stare boredly at the whiteboard as mine and Jackie's chemistry teacher directs us instructions for the in class. "Okay, so I need you in you groups fours, and one person needs to identify the equipment used and another write down the results-" Is all I hear from the teacher before i zone out of boredom, "Partners?" I say turning my head towards Jackie and to which she responds with "Partners." confirming my question "We need to find at least one other person." I say as Jackie nods and asks people about joining our group to which was all ignored.
"Hey your Jackie right?, and Irene?" I hear beforing turning to face this mysterious person,
"I'm Skylar you can join us if you want? He says refering to himself and a person who is not here all to which I respond with a grateful smile. "You know our names?" Jackie says confused on how he knows us which in all honesty was wondering too and which Skylar responds with
"Everbody knows your names we don't get much newbies around here and Irene let's just you have made a statement to a lot of people around here." Skylar says while leading us to an table.

"Sky do you know about those new girls, the one sitting with cole and the other one who's practically had everyone obsessing over?" A brunette girl with a pastal purple outfit said refering to me and Jackie, "Grace-" Skylar says trying to signal that the very girls she was talking about were right next to them.
"Apparently there actually cousins and the one who was sitting next to cole had a mother who was a fashion designer-" The girl whose name i now know is 'Grace' said in a very rushed voice as Skylar tried to interrupt her and point to the fact that were not even five feet away from her.
"And she died six months ago in a car accident with like her whole family. It was really sad actually." Grace says to which I just tense my grib on the testing beacker tighting as memories flood back to 'That night' my mood instantly damping and sadness over flowing my body.
But i try hard to avoid the feelings before glancing up at Grace,

"Hi-" me and Jackie say instantaneously together while we glanced up Grace, Jackie staring at Grace with a glare, me with a hardening look. Only to which Grace returns with a mortified look
"Holy shi-" Skylar quickly cuts her off before saying "What she means is that she's sorry."

"It's fine." Jackie says speaking for us both to which I just rolled my eyes at Jackie having to be the bigger person after she just caught someone exposing our business to other people but I just tone out of the conversation focussing on writing my notes before my attention was caught back into there conversation "So how do you know Cole?" Grace asks Jackie trying to get the scoop on how they are affiliated, "I don't know he was just being nice." Jackie says not understanding what Skylar and Grace were referring to only to which they respond with a loud laughter only to retort back
"Cole doesn't do nice." As if it was a well known fact to new students

"He differently does annoying though." I say finally joining into there conversation only to met with conjoined laughter which also gets joined in with mine as we all giggle to each other.

As I make my way outside of school waiting at the car park for Jackie only to realize she was running late "This isn't like her." I mumbled to myself as I check the time on my phone and coming to the realization that I'll have to go looking for her

As I turn the corner from behind the school I'm met by the sight of a two girls and Jackie who seem to be in some kind of disagreement.
"Im not buying this little orphan Annie act, I know you're up to something." Erin says in a threading tone,

"Excuse me?!"

HEYY GUYS IM SO SORRY FOR NOT UPDATING IN AWHILE I WAS JUST SO BUSY AND I DIDNT LIKE THE WAY I WRITING THE CHAPTER SO I RESTARTED LIKE 20 TIMESSS LIKE UGHHHH
