Pain

I woke up groggily, my head was killing me. Ugh, God...this hurts like hell. I didn't think I would get a head ache here, but alas, I got one. My head feels like it's pulsating out of its damn skull. I gripped my head, digging my nails into my skin. I just want this pain to go away.

I got out of bed, grabbing onto my bedside table to stabilize me. I closed my eyes as I took a few subtle breaths, trying to stand evenly on my 2 feet. I reopened my eyes, my vision was very fuzzy. I toppled backwards, hitting my bed with my back recklessly. I winced in pain as I sat on the ground.

My failed attempts at walking made my head hurt even more. It made me feel hopeless. Should I tell Caine I'm taking the day off, or what? Since I doubt I can do our in-house adventure today with my splitting head ache.

I closed my eyes while sitting next to my bed, my back pushing against the side. I placed my hands next to me so I didn't topple over. There was a knock at my door. I didn't have the will to speak; my voice felt numb.

There was heavier knocking.

"Y/N...?" Caine's voice called out. "A-Are you okay?"

I tried speaking, but only raspy moans came out of my throat. Was I getting sick? Was that even possible?!

"Y/N?!" Caine's voice seemed ore urgent.

"I'm......here....." I whispered. Caine didn't hear me. He simply opened the door as quickly as he could with a huge WHAM. When he saw me, he looked relieved.

"Oh, thank God you're okay," Caine sighed. "W-Wait...are you okay?"

I shook my head, my words weren't coming out.

"I..feel....sick...." I groaned.

"Oh no! You can miss today, okay? I'll tell the others! So it's no worry! Just rest up, alright?" Caine told me. He genuinely seemed...concerned? That shocked me, since he's just a simple NPC, right?

"O-Okay....th..anks...." I muttered. Caine smiled and closed the door gently behind him. I sighed as I steadily stood up and got in my bed. I closed my eyes and groaned in pain...when will this head ache stop?!

~Ragatha's POV~

We were waiting for Caine to come back after checking up on Y/N. I hope she's okay, since I'm getting worried about her.

"I'm back!" Caine exclaimed.

"What about Y/N?" Zooble wondered.

"Uh...she's not feeling the best! I don't exactly know what's going on, but she really doesn't look the best either. She could also barely speak too, so I'm not forcing her to be here," Caine explained.

"Aw, that's so sad!" I gasped. Why did it have to be Y/N who's sick?

"Eh. Oh well," Jax chuckled. Did this guy have any empathy?!

"Jax, she's our friend! Be more empathetic," I hissed. Jax rolled his eyes at my comment.

"W-Wait...what will our adventure be without Y/N?" Gangle wondered.

"It will be something FOR Y/N! Since they're an amazing friend to us, we should do something for them!" Caine suggested. Everybody gasped. That was a great idea!!

"Yes! That's a fantastic idea!" I agreed.

"Y-Yeah!" Pomni exclaimed.

"Fantastic!" Caine chuckled. "While Y/N is bedridden, we'll think of something special to do with Y/N and surprise her tomorrow!"

"I guess that's a good idea," Jax agreed.

"Isn't it? Let's start brainstorming!"

~Y/N's POV~

I felt awful. This was probably the worst feeling I've felt in a long time...I just wish this suffering would end. I just stared at the ceiling, my vision getting fuzzier by the moment, and my body feeling more numb. I knew I was slowly losing consciousness...but I didn't want to waste the day in bed. What....if....they.....need....me.....?

....I slowly lost consciousness.
