Since desti is still alive in my universe Meggy didn't have to make a promise to desti but she did make a promise that she would beat desti in the final splatfest goes up against desti and the octoposse in the final round and Meggy won against so during the whole roof top scene with Meggy and desti

Desti basically caongrtulates and thanks Meggy for everything and that she is glad that she met her before hugging her
and Meggy explains how much desti means to her
and finally gives desti a kiss on the lips which at first desti is suprised at first but she enjoys the kiss and tells meggy that they'll chase their dreams together no matter what
So yeah if you don't like how I explained it oh fucking well listen I just don't really like how they killed desti off as some sort of motivation plot for meggy charahter arc when sunset paradise exists
