As always I ended up disappearing again after my last post ;-; sorry. But a huge thank you to all my OG readers who have stuck with me for the past couple years, through the slowest uploads and my crappy writing. But enjoying it enough to reread. I see you all and am so thankful for y'all. And all my new readers too ofc xx

Anyway little reminder to not comment any spoilers xx I'm sure we all know not to, but just incase. See y'all at the end!

Hating him was easier than loving him.

Because loving him meant having to confront your feelings and prepare yourself for possible rejection.

Hating him meant you could hide from those feelings and protect yourself.

You knew it was a toxic way to think and act, but you'd spent so long already 'hating' the green haired man, that it felt too late to turn back.

You weren't sure if any of the crew suspected your hatred to be fake, you were good at it. You felt certain one of them would've confronted you about it if they had realised.

So the facade continues.

"You're always in the way, you know that right?" You grumble as you step over the swordsmans legs, as he's sat attempting to take a nap at the bottom of the stairs.

Was he really in the way? No. But finding anything to be frustrated at him with was what you did. And for the most part, Zoro usually brushes off your little complaints and anger. Occasionally, he will argue back for a while, but nothing ever too serious or out of control that someone has to step in.

After all, you're not trying to cause issues among all the crew members.

Hating him was just easier than loving him.

"Mhm, whatever you say y/n" he mumbles back, his voice sounding exhausted and half asleep. Not in the mood to try and go back and forth with you. You can't help but frown at him, although his eyes were closed.

You push away the thought that he looked pretty in the sunlight.

As you storm off past him, annoyed that zoro wasn't going to entertain your antics today, Robin comes to stop you.

Unaware that she was actually very observant when it came to how you interacted with the grumpy man. That's just how she was, observant of all her friends.

Although you seem angry and frustrated with the swordsman all the time, she often caught the way your eyes would soften when he wasn't looking. Almost sad and longing. It would only be for a second, but she saw it.

At first, she had debated asking you about it. Then deciding it better to leave you to deal with your emotions your own way. She felt it wasn't her place to tell you how to cope with how you felt. For all she knew, she could be wrong about the way you looked at him. Maybe she was reading too much into it.

"Y/n" she called to you, with her usual gentle and calm voice.

"Hmm?" You turn to walk over to her, reluctantly avoiding taking another glance at Zoro.

"Can I ask you something?" She says with a hint of hesitance. Raising an ebrow at her, but still sitting beside her and nodding.

"Why is it that you dislike Zoro so much?" She questions, voice returning to her usual self.

The question threw you off for a moment. This was the first time anyone had asked you.

You took it as a chance to convince her of your reasons. Thinking it best to not have her questioning your true feelings. Although your reasoning wasn't as solid as you would hope. How could it be when it was all a lie.
