The Early Renaissance, the High Renaissance, and the Late Renaissance are the three major periods of the Renaissance. The Renaissance itself ended around the year 1600.

During the Renaissance, Europeans saw love and marriage as two important, but very different, parts of life. Poets described love as an overpowering force, both spiritual and sexual. For most people, however, marriage was a more practical matter.

Monarchs in France, England, and Spain, such as Francis I (ruled 1515–1547), Henry VIII (1509–1547), and his daughter Elizabeth I (1558–1603) as well as Charles I (1516–1556), attempted to tackle a chaotic situation by concentrating royal power, unifying their realms and strengthening their bureaucracies

Three great masters–Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Raphael–dominated the period known as the High Renaissance, which lasted roughly from the early 1490s until the sack of Rome by the troops of the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V of Spain in 152

What was the courtly love tradition in the Renaissance?

Courtly love may perhaps have been the greatest change in Western culture between the fall of Rome and the rise of the Renaissance. It put women on pedestals and glorified amorous passion in a way that was anathema both to Classical civilization and Christian salvation.
